Hi Pontifex,
This is a helpful clip. We notice that good and evil are taken as signs of God's presence. Without God there would be no good or evil. There is problem with the speaker's perspective. Reading the book of Genesis we notice that all creation is considered by God to be very good. Human beings have no knowledge of good and evil prior to the fall. There is a tree in the garden which bears fruit. That fruit being the knowledge of good and evil. That fruit being the one and only thing not permitted for human being. The knowledge of good and evil pertains only to God. But our ancestors chose to eat the forbidden fruit. This sparking the fear of death which has the whole world in bondage to the "restless striving of power after power".
To objectify* God is to invoke idolatry. Something the prophets of ancient Israel noticed as common to an age in decline; such as ours.

* Religion goes disastrously astray when it tries to compete with the empirical tradition by claiming objective proofs for the presence of God in human history. What we have in history is the subjective voices of persons and peoples inspired by the presence of God in their experience. God is not a stick or a stone that I bow down to. God is an undefinable presence with whom I am in intimate relationship.
