Is it true that Nanaimo bars are only made in Atlantic Canada, but named after a place in BC?

I think I saw that Northwind actually got one at a Nanaimo bakery recently!!! A miracle!!

I did get one in Nanaimo. I believe I read of the woman who created the delicacy. She's from Nanaimo. I've had the pleasure of consuming Nanaimo bars made in several provinces.

Yes, they do seem to be made/ available cross country. Wherever they come from they are wonderful.
