We'll see how Saturday goes first.
Jae you are being given a gift- your brother is bringing one he dearly loves to meet his family.
It is challenging to see the sacred in the person before you. Often we cling to our hurt feelings, our judgements on past actions, our worship of cleanliness or our beliefs about body size.
Jesus didn't seem to have problems with acceptance and acting from love.
Sincerely ... and I hope this is helpful.....He didn't, and at the same time he continued to invite people into the Kingdom of God. So, that's my place as well when it comes to seeing my brother again and meeting his girlfriend.
Sincerely ... and I hope this is helpful.....
Earn the right to be heard...... give off that you would wish you would receive were you wearing his shoes.....
I am so sincerely hoping and praying that this is just the first meeting in a new and loving relationship.
Sincerely
Rita
I suggest 1Corinthians 13 as your guide.......Thanks RitaTG. I believe I am one of those who has been called to present Christ to them. That means being loving, gentle, and kind. At this point, as you suggest, I have not earned the right to speak into their lives in any other way. I haven't really spoken with my brother in any meaningful way in years, and I haven't even met his girlfriend yet. I will definitely be doing some praying that the Spirit will guide me and bless the whole event.
I suggest 1Corinthians 13 as your guide.......
If you are rejecting the one he loves then he will not be inclined to hear about the one you love.
Then you have missed the message of the gospelWhat do you mean, "If you are rejecting the one..." RitaTG? In no way do I approve of their relationship. That doesn't change that the way I should act is in love, but I am not accepting her place in his life.
Then you have missed the message of the gospel![]()
You don't get it and I am beginning to doubt you ever will.Really. How so. Jesus befriended sinners, spent time with sinners, and ate with sinners. At no time did he approve of their sin, or of their sinful relationships.
You don't get it and I am beginning to doubt you ever will.
It is not for you to approve or disapprove ... it is not for you to judge.... it is for you to love....
......sigh ........ how very very sad................Love the people? Yes absolutely. Does that mean loving all behavior that people choose to engage in? Absolutely not.
