There's on expression that says: God gave a song right out of the mystery that is everything ... given what we know after the fall out ...

Which way could it go ?

More Solstice. They are becoming my go-to band for lively, feel-good songs. Here's an early live performance of "Firefly" which eventually came out as the opening track on last year's album Clann.

"Amaranth" is one of Nightwish's biggest hits and for good reason. It's a lively, melodic rocker that leaves you feeling good. The song was a perfect fit for then lead singer Anette Olzon's more pop-style voice though current lead Floor Jansen has now kind of taken ownership of it. It hit number one on the charts in several European markets and the single went gold in Finland within two days of its release. It appears on their album "Dark Passion Play" as well as many of their live albums after that. Given it's chart success, it remains a staple of the band's setlists to this day and Anette is featuring it in her recent concerts revisiting her Nightwish days.

I commented on another site that while I was never a big fan of Sedaka, his music was unavoidable in my childhood so it's kind of part of the soundtrack of my life. Radio, TV, in-store muzak, he was in all of them. Amazing songwriter who really played a big part in shaping the pop music of his day (which covers a lot of ground given he started his career in the 1950s). Sad that he is gone.

From early in his career (the single was released at the end of 1960):

"May It Be" was originally by Irish songstress Enya for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings (forget which part). It's a beautiful ballad to start with, very much an Enya song. So I was a bit taken aback when this metal arrangement that cranks up the volume and makes the song into more of an anthem came out. But it worked and became a favourite of mine. It's been a soundtrack to a few scenes I've written. It was also my introduction to the two vocalists, both of whom are now favourites of mine. The band is The Dark Side of the Moon (no idea why they stole their name from a Pink Floyd album) with guest artist Charlotte Wessels joining their founder and lead singer Melissa Bonny on vocals.

Raisin elle to another stage? Sir ... that's Ur ... seered into the unknown ... a grand thing we have never seen!

The overly emotional and uncertain (no particular reference) can't take it ... so egos ... all about us! Few look intuit ...

When you look out ... from where they can't see you ... they do things they say were forbidden ... thus national bedrooms and wash houses ... for flushing it out ... continuous given what we're fed as virtue that no one knows for sure ... such is the matter washed from energetic mines ... relative hole in difficult space? Great passages ... extended lectures ... something to cause relaxation and rest for UNO ... the one that says all else is nothing ... isn't that something to have fun with ... AEOLi?
With ghost pepper DIN for chaos ... hot cover! Expect conditions ... heated? Fire tender needs to get something out of it ...

It’s not exactly a music video but it’s uplifting cheer up music making. Mattais Krantz is remarkable. He rescued an octopus from a fish market and taught it how to play an incredibly customized piano. Mostly for fun, for both! This is some real engineering genius, marine biologist skill, and pet/ owner bonding (kind of sad because Tako was too domesticated to be put back into the ocean, but is well taken care of). It’s amazing that he pined for his piano every night at 6 pm lol. I’m going to watch some more of this guy’s videos. I started watching puppy videos to cheer me up then YouTube recommended this lol. Imagine relaxing in the evening by playing guitar/ piano duets with an octopus! This is “good weird”.

Here he is searching downtown Chicago for musicians to play the 18 string, cylindrical electric base/ guitar he built! I love stuff like this. I love street music too. Even the fire engine siren fit with the jazzy chaos. Who is the patron saint of street musicians?
