This time I am also on a hill, in a building made with a lot of wood (at least on the exterior, I don't know about the core - built in late 70s early 80s maybe), and on the third floor of three stories, and I felt it.
Maybe it had something to do with us being over the high-ceilinged lobby held up by pillars, and a wall from the building office midway into the front half of the lobby - a support wall, and some overhang out front on pillars.. Maybe (hopefully) the pillars were designed with earthquakes in mind. It was a concrete building, so, no flex unless there is metal core inside the concrete. That's a worrisome thing about some residential high rises built before the mid 70s. They're basically built with concrete Lego blocks. I never found out but it was on my mind several times over the years to inquire as to whether it was up to code or not. The landlords lived in the unit next door and they didn't seem too worried, though.

In some very high structures there are lazar locators (CN Tower) so you can see the building constantly swaying (sloe?) but we don't sense this ... sort of like the world turning with analgesia ... without sense?

Whenever I thins upon the Ceding Tower - I always feel corrupt for Samara's sites that don't have it. ITC but one more thin that Taranto had goon for it, tat they lass. I have to € thin that the other sites mix have Tower-envy. Our tower ice but could huge, could tall, could wrestle.
That's an erectile thought Jae very upstanding ... or as they used to say in old dais ... ET Hick all. Don't go too far on that theme or you may drop into the pool as the chord dangles there ... just as a Nous thingy ... Romans toasted a lot of the other indeterminate info by torching libraries and attempting to control thoughts in the Latin direction ... too emotional for my aspect of attributes ... a point of not having anie imagination to draw on things beyond respectful physical form in volumes ... thus Fermat theory on drawing up flats into spheres ... beads of wisdom or just dark pearls to some that can't dig worth chit ... thus rabi' droppings ... and the bun ga (gama)? Tis an occult art ... WORD as indi script ... the sounds of silence ... few respect that racket of literary knowledge ... although it ahs to be tested.
In my engineering work I had to alter many things done by the book that were erroneous for decades ... then I caught chit for changing things for the beta! Mortal authority is like that ... just can't process from one spot to another in the greater book ... like a large womb or other hatching place ... but don't tell about its vastness ... many authorities think they have it in the box ...
As an aside off topic my travels and running off caused Dick Cheney to wish to shoot me ... I was just fired instead he shot one of his business friends ... and thus the expression what are friends for ... but to hurt those that support yah? This could be mis dated info ...

Somewhere around 1998, when I was still in Hamilton and not yet a parent, I drove from my office out to the West end of Hamilton to pick up Mrs. M who was meeting with a student at the student's apartment. I arrived to find them emerging from the building's staircase talking about the place shaking. At about the same time reports of a mild quake started coming in on the radio. Turns out that there had been a light quake, so mild that the car's motion prevented me from feeling it. However they had been on an upper floor of the building and had felt enough to be spooked into evacuating.

If there are some wealthy barons around here fortunate enough to own a helicopter and landing pad on top of a steel reinforced earthquake proof building here - and could fly away at the first hint of a quake, they might be okay. Or, a batmobile? Batman, is this Gotham? Otherwise, I think people will be screwed.
What I wonder is...seeing as there have been rather big earthquakes in California in modern times - why (maybe they do but it just came to mind) why don't they do an assessment of the buildings that were not damaged and only build such buildings unless absolutely certain they're structurally sound. Why 40 story glass towers that are crammed into one area accessible to emergency crews by a few old bridges?!!! Not so smart planning. And the city is not moving too fast on doing anything to help the situation. But they keep building more towers with million+ dollar suites. Even when we had the hockey riots downtown here and emergency crews did an excellent job - I thought it was kind of screwed up that downtown is sort of corralled in a tight spot. I lived at the other end of downtown - West End/ English Bay at the time, and I thought "I hope no senior around here has a heart attack and needs an ambulance tonight."
