There's no chat room here, if that's what you mean :) by ""live."" Here we just post messages back and forth for each other to read. Most of the messages have been quite kindly, with a lot of friendliness and respect for different viewpoints shown over the years.

I have read your message and am getting a better idea of what WC is about. I have clicked on "alert" cannot believe the time I have spent here.
 
@HG ... my wife says I'm addicted to it ... but it is easier on the system than more booze, faster cars and women who are tres vite ... that's one who needs to be placed in a dish because chi'z too haute to handle! :censored:

It is addictive. Personally, I'm retiring on April 6th.

today in history; I saw the news and I did not know it was " (inter?)national autism awareness" day. apparently, the big statue of Christ in (I think?) Rio de janaro (brazil!) was shone in blue to commemorate the occasion. Thank god there R people (dedicated christions, Xtions?) who take the time to do such things! (would jesus do the same?) not all autism sufferers R Christians. also, it said the autism is not classified as a disease but rather has been classified as a disorder for the last (I think it said?) 7 years. I do not know what (OEsterous) is and I know nothing of "bunnies in a......" also ROBERT SHULLER(sic) died. thank-you.
 
That's why life is so chaotic Eire ... to support disorder so the authorities believe thy have some moving point to put to order!

Keeps absolute authorities "occupied" ... or as IW states so IT goes as we can't grasp ....

Well, I am slowing down my posting and others seem to be posting more than me lately but there is still a ridiculous gap between me (second most active poster), and Chemgal (third most). There are those in some threads everyday that I purposely don't frequent much. Trying to get to third place, then fourth! It's just so easy to pop in and post a thought. But I don't have to respond to everything that draws my attention.
 
and if I recall Chansen said it was easy to operate such a site: that is why I was pro - supporting WC versus going - I get that he has very serious real life concerns, as we all do. But unpaid and not part of job - maintaining this site is a really big job


I also recall that in the creation of this site - Chansen was onboard and said it cost little out of pocket - so with his rsignation whose pocket will now fund the site

Pinga is currently acting Treasurer.

As far as expenses go I don't think we have been told everything that we might possibly know. I have only heard that for large updates requiring some serious technical know-how we have a contact that we pay.

Either as far as revenue goes, I am aware that some have made a donation or two. I know that a donation has been offered.

A treasurer's report would be a nice thing to have though I am not sure that we have enough revenue and expenditure streams to make it worthwhile.
 
UUCan made a grave error in cancelling the original WC

and now we see that a volunteer driven sit is very fragile

and RevJohn seriously I know how you are trying to structure the board - charities and condos an big business use this model - but the volunteer model is to commit to three hours a week - you are not going to find more time commitment than that

Carolla and creator of the site Chansen have bailed out - so who is going to manage it? I understand what you have posted but honestly it is a full time job

First off, he didn't fund it. He was one of several people who kicked in donations. @Pinga is acting treasurer and will be reporting soon on the state of the exchequer, but I know she has already paid some of this year's bills out of funds collected in the run up so we are solvent and looking forward to our second year of operation.. There is no UCCan funding because we are not affiliated with the church and have not asked them for funding or other involvement beyond helping promote the site through a link from the old domain and through the Wondercafe Facebook group.
