How then can spirit and soul be "one an the same", as you described them above, if we don’t become this “third part” until we become followers of Christ? Your logic is failing here. How can Christ save your spirit if you don't have a spirit until you follow Christ?

I was not going to post more on this but you have really left me no other way.
First I did not say man is three parts . You did. I said man is two parts ,Flesh and Spirit. When one uses the word soul , I think there just referring to the spirit. We I believe when finished will be of three parts . That being our Spirit -1, GODS Holy Spirit-2,--and Christ body3--.By the way you don't receive GODS Holy Spirit with out Jesus The Christ. GOD draws you to Him The Christ. So saids GOD HOLY Word.

Airclean--post-- Hi there Blackbelt. That's find if that's how you read it. I do not , if you look at the start of thessalonians , I believe once more you will see He is talking only to the church . The church is those who have received GODS HOLLY SPIRIT. So I believe Paul was saying be sure you keep your spirit, your body , whitch by the way is against GOD" and is condemned already" ,and GODS HOLLY SPIRIT Holley . Meaning be on guard and don't sin. The HOLLEY SPIRIT" is so far above mans" spirit . He uses the word soul , whitch to me means who you are. Your spirit.

Well and as I understand it the idea of separating the parts is Greek in origin, not Jewish. IIRC Jewish thought in the first century saw the human as a unified whole, not a body and a soul/spirit. I suggest that in 1 Cor 15 Paul a) may have been borrowing from Greek philosophy (as was common in the era) or b) been referring to the transformation that resurrection brings.

--Well Blackbelt , We are children of Adam ,or the flesh . I believe Till we receive GODS HOLLY Spirit. Then an only then are you truly a child of GOD. John1--13. The spirit is life to the flesh. So, I'm not going to play your game, and I think most Christians here are wishing you wouldn't use this sort of tactic because it puts Christianity in a terrible light where you have to guilt people into believing. Further, you think so little of me that you probably think I'd put myself above my family, and that's going to fail miserably here because despite it all, no one else here thinks that of me.
