My problem is that they want parents told - teachers/schools have no desire to tell parents for any other extra-curricular participation so why this?

If you are following Global's coverage - Dave E just showed the 4 central AB ridings = Bible Belt but that doesn't equal Conservative votes (ie religion-based)

BC’s looking blue, except on the coast. Mostly orange. Though, Hedy Fry, Lib., got in in Vancouver centre for the umpteenth time. She’s alright. Wilson Raybould won her independent seat in Vancouver-Granville, East Van stayed NDP

Nanaimo had a Green incumbent. It didn't just go Green tonight.

I missed that. Should’ve known better. Apparently the Alberni - forgot name but Parksville is in it, riding, includes part of Nanaimo, and it’s NDP.

It's further south than Red Deer. Not Edmonton area.

Then there's the three party leaders speaking at the same time rather than taking turns as is the tradition. That doesn't bode well for how they'll do in the House.

Best thing about this election is that Bernier tanked. Phew. Glad he was more bark than bite. Second best thing is that the balance of power in the Liberal minority shifts things leftward. No orange wave this time, but Singh made a strong impression.

One interesting local note:The NDP in London-Fanshawe saw a passing of the torch between generations as Lindsay Mathyssen held on to the riding, succeeding her mother Irene who has held it through several elections. It's an NDP stronghold and the Mathyssens are a big part of that. While I am not in that riding, I've met Irene once and used to know many of her volunteers through the UU fellowship.

WEll you are wrong. The most Bible Beltish areas in Alberta tend to be in the south. Edmonton is arguably the most progressive part of the province as a whole.

The only problem with GSA's is Kenney

That is an overstatement. I know of many who had issues in the GP area (ok most of them were conservative pastors). THere were a lot of people feeding Kenney on that issue.
