I've got a smart phone, now are there any useful apps I should get?

In particular I'm interested in one that works really well for medications with slightly more complicated dosing. Considering all the different names, having DIN numbers included would be an asset. Daily med reminders to take stuff would probably annoy me, I wouldn't mind ones for getting refills though.

I tried one already, but it won't even allow for 2x/week, let alone that and as needed/prn.

In terms of giving others info is there anything else worthwhile? I was just planning on making some files, in addition to having the ICE info in contacts.

Berinert has a Canadian app, I got that. It includes a video for the mixing system. Not sure how useful it is, attacks can be logged but I have to do the logs with med stickers anyway.

If you know a good health app that serves a different purpose share that as well! Someone else might make use of it.

I use one called Pillzzz. It isn't the most sophisticated out there, but it nicely keeps track of my meds and reminds me when to take them.

What kind of smart phone do you have ChemGal?

Samsung Galaxy S4
I'll take a look at Pillzzz

Jae, did you set up anything else on your phone due to your medical condition?
Not really ChemGal. I tried a few other free med apps, but Pillzzz seemed the best, so I kept it and deleted the others. I have fewer apps to choose from since I have a Windows Phone.

I always forget my apps due to displacement theory ... when the emotions horn in ... thus anger management process ... many don't get it ... and anger or fear is the general MO ... and thus we Moes IE along ...

I've been putting together a health file on my phone. Is it possible to have a file accessible (Samsung Galaxy S4) when my phone is locked?
I've done a bit of searching but got a bit frustrated.

It would be really unusual to have a file available when the phone is locked.

The concept is that if your phone is picked up by someone you don't want ghost files accessible.

Am I misunderstanding your question, chemgal

No, you're getting it. There are some apps where certain information is available from them when a phone is locked - think ICE and the like. I was surprised, even MedicAlert doesn't have this capability.

If you want information available you could consider your Screensaver and use text.

I cannot imagine EMS opening an app on your smartphone. They may look for detailed information in your wallet

Pillzzz isn't available on the Google store. I've been using MyMedRec it was actually recommended by AHS and I've been pleasantly surprised by it's options. I think it's slightly awkward to navigate but including proper information is the most important thing to me.

I thought with the recommendation to put ICE contacts in phones for emergency services that they would open something that was available from a locked phone.
