What a complete crock. Label the sides and bridge whatever you want, it really doesn't matter. Primarily, it doesn't matter because of Christians themselves, too many of which claim to have crossed the bridge, yet are still among the most immoral people in a given town. That makes the image meaningless.

that is the theological position whether one believes or not , regardless, it would do wonders for your character if you heeded Rev Stevens words on offering grace

I really think it is important to research the history of same sex unions. When one looks at the ancient timeline of it all it reveals some interesting data. There is no doubt that Jesus Himself was exposed to this lifestyle and that it was in fact generally accepted in the Greek and Roman world. (more so the Greeks) Rome eventually passed a law called the Lex Scantinia, possibly in the 2nd century BC, that outlawed the homosexual rape of young male citizens. Consensual homosexual liaisons were not legislated against although they may have been mocked, referring to these unions as "Graeculus" meaning "a little Greek".

No legislation has been unearthed to conflict with this until the year 342AD, when the Roman Emperor Constantine II and Constans, created new laws as recorded in the Codex Theodosian and the Codex Justinian that marriage based on unnatural sex was to be condemned and those taking part were to be punished. Constans himself was later found to have had male lovers. Later in the year 390AD, the emperors Valentinian, Theodosius, and Arcadius ruled that any man taking the role of a woman would be burned to death.

All of this came about because of Constantine I becoming a Christian and used the Bible as his authority, especially the book of Leviticus against homosexuality. (he also would argue that war is justifiable)

Rita I hope you don't feel this is derailing the thread by going over the history, but I'm thinking that if we are to make the church more welcoming for young people we should revisit our past in order to move forword....see the mistakes that were made and if we are repeating them today....in order to love one another.

sure,,,, according to scripture, mans heart is deceitful, we see this acting out in all areas of life not just sex , so for me i look to an objective source to guide me that is external to my hearts feelings/desires , this objectivity is Christ/God and His word, so regardless of what i feel, i choose to accept the words of scripture , which is not so good for my heart cuz that makes me not just a sinner but a big sinner . So all I Truly have is His Grace and work on the cross, the rest of the legalities of scripture , I trust that God has dealt with it through Christ, for me and for you.

Now having said that and living currently in a autonomous culture & bouth you and I having the same one Father , would you give me the same autonomy I give you or will you revert to an heteronomous culture as soon as you disagree with my answer and dictate for me what I should or must believe as-well ?
