Unfortunately, since they've already torn down the East Wing, something will have to be done. And it might be finished by 2029, so the next president might not have a say in that. And some have argued that the president really does need a space for hosting events even if this attempt at creating one is more about Trump's ego. So maybe spend more taxpayer's dollars to renovate into something less grandiose and more practical. No matter what, it's the US taxpayer who gets screwed over, though. What do you think will happen to the unfinished ballroom?
Ask the people? What do you think will happen to the unfinished ballroom?

Oh come on. What is this? A democracy?![]()
Unfortunately, the best solution to get that into the system is to break the power of money in the system. Right now, it's big donors that get most of the attention save during an election cycle when "the people" get a lot of talk but not always much action. End corporate donations, cap personal donations, end PACs or limit their ability to influence campaigns. We have had a bit more success at this here than they have but even we still have problems with the big corps, well-funded lobbies, and the wealthy having disproportionate influence.Quite frankly though, it's time the people were served first, and that won't take a ballroom, just more empathy and compassion. IMO
I would add that monopolies have got out of hand and should allow for more competition.....right now they can rule the world...as seen by Musk taking away Ukraine's access to Star Link, that took their ability to defend themselves.Unfortunately, the best solution to get that into the system is to break the power of money in the system. Of course, he does have competition developing but it's a Chinese constellation and they are unlikely to give Ukraine access given Xi and Putin's close ties.I would add that monopolies have got out of hand and should allow for more competition.....right now they can rule the world...as seen by Musk taking away Ukraine's access to Star Link, that took their ability to defend themselves.
Yes. Because that's his biggest failure. As 'Mr. Veto,' Trump's immediate dismissal philosophy will be his undoing legacy.

It is on track for completion during Trump’s term. What do you think will happen to the unfinished ballroom?
Trump focuses on concrete outcomes. Loyalty. Competition! WHAT HE SEES AS COMMON SENSE!WTF are you two talking about? Seems rather rather, um, philosophical for a thread on a guy who is anything but philosophical.
The "gold" embellishments looks like peel and stick decals, so they might not last very long anyway.I wonder how long his executive order about not changing the Oval Office decor will stand up. I’d bet not long.
Politics, Mrs A, ends up being about appearances regardless of who's in charge. Personally, I'd rather see energy spent on things that actually improve people's day-to-day lives.Things could have been much cheaper if they had done it like in the story of the “Emperor’s clothes”. The ballroom could have been a 3 D image , stick on gold stickers in the Oval office and so on. As long as he has people to admire it/ him, he wouldn’t notice.
