The “woman at the well” you mentioned, Luce, is a perfect picture. Jesus meeting someone in her fragmented life. Offering living water that unites the scattered bits into wholeness.

The Good News's not vain words. Salvation’s grace's reality breaking through confusion's pall.

Where human thought sinks into “lost theory,” Christ rises as the living Truth. The Shepherd calls His sheep by name. We can rest in the assurance that God’s Word's not scattered

Real people (probably) do not see this, until they die ... thus the theory that mankind must die ... and then the lights come on ... as an OBI!

There are more strange thoughts on the other side than the strange can oppose (in either direction). Symbiotic Army? Of course to support balance in the input output process or otherwise a soul gets drained of something mysterious like energy or its counter point (><) a subtle thought as hypothetic? If a winner in the legal game ... hype? There is no justice if losers are rejected ... thus depletions of some essences ... nothing left but a whisp as at Victoria Falls ... all is misty!

They tell me this is all theory as no one can remember the line and confirm anything ... explaining the mindset of many religious, politicians and merchants of what ever they are selling ... just a streak left in the market ...

Scripture says salvation is “of God who shows mercy”* (Rom 9:16).
this is that scripture in Context ---not just one line -----there Jaebius

Again this is God's Sovereign Plan for the Future -----God will use Who He Wants --How He Wants and When He Wants to bring His Plan to victory -----And His Plan is Still playing out there Jaebius ----His Plan is not Finished Yet ----and He Will continue to Use any Man or Woman He Chooses in any way He sees fit to bring His Plan to Completion -----

verse 17 tells you that ----
17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”[g]

God also raised up Jeremiah for His purpose for His future Plan ----

The Call of Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:4–10)

Pre-born appointment: God says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations

God use a prostitute for His purpose to bring about His Future plan ----Hosea 1:2

God Chose David as well as others to be a King ----He Chose Mary ---He chose -Elizabeth------He Chose John the Baptise ----He Chose a Donkey to Speak ---all His Sovereign Will -----and they all obeyed

God’s Sovereign Choice

6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.

7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[b]

8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.

9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”[c]

10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac.

11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand:

12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[d]

13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”[e]

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!

15 For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”[f]

16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.

17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”[g]

18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

But Here is what you and Calvin are missing -----

God Himself Chose to Allow us to Have Free Will to make decisions ---

Otherwise God would not have given a Choice to the israelites to choose between the Blessings and Curses in Duteronomy 28 ===

and He wouldn't have given a Choice to Cain to master Sin or to make the choice to do well or not to do well -----

if God was using His Sovereign Will on our choices---there would be no Choice for Cain ----He would have simply done to Cain what He wanted ---period --end of story ----

Genesis 4:7-----he said this to Cain
Choice
If you do well
[believing Me and doing what is acceptable and pleasing to Me], will you not be accepted?
----------Choice
And if you do not do well [but ignore My instruction], sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you [to overpower you], but you must master it.” Choice

He wouldn't have given the Jewish nation a choice to choose Life or death ----

Deuteronomy 30 :19----

New International Version
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.
Now
choose life, so that you and your children may live

The Hebrew Word here for Choose ---Strong's

Lexical Summary
bachar: To choose, select

Topical Lexicon

Overview of Usage
The verb בָּחר occurs about 152 times in the Old Testament and consistently carries the idea of deliberate, discerning choice.

Whether the subject is the LORD or humankind,
בָּחר always implies personal commitment, preference for one option over others, and the expectation that the choice will be honored in life and worship.
-------------------------

Divine Choosing of a Covenant People
frames God’s sovereign election

Selection of Kings and Leaders
בָּחר establishes legitimate authority. The LORD “chose Judah as leader”

Choice of a Worship Center
Deuteronomy introduces a crucial refrain: “the place the LORD your God will choose to put His Name”

Chosen Sacrifices and Offerings

The LORD’s selection governs sacrificial worship: “You shall bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices … in the place which the LORD will choose

The Elect Servant and Messianic Hope

Isaiah introduces “My Servant, whom I uphold, My Chosen One in whom My soul delights

-------------------------------------------------------------

Human Responsibility in Choosing

God initiates, humans respond. Moses sets life and death before Israel: “Choose life, so that you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

Joshua echoes the call: “Choose this day whom you will serve” (Joshua 24:15).
Proverbs warns against choosing crooked paths (Proverbs 1:29-30) and commends choosing wisdom (Proverbs 3:31).

Prophetic Appeals and Warnings

Prophets confront Israel’s misplaced choices—idols, alliances, injustices—contrasting them with God’s righteous selection: “They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations” (Isaiah 66:3). Such choices incur judgment yet invite repentance (Isaiah 55:6-7).

Wisdom Literature and Moral Dimension

Job laments that evildoers “choose not to know His ways” (Job 21:14).
Proverbs repeatedly equates choice with character: “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice” (Proverbs 21:3).
The Psalms celebrate choosing God’s testimonies
(Psalm 119:30).

From Google ---I agree with this ---

God can sovereignty choose to limit or restrict the outward exercise of His power, such as granting humans genuine free will or binding Himself by His own promises. This self-limitation flows from His own free choice rather than an outside force overpowering Him.

This free will to choose came from God ----so which ever way He chose to allow this ---we can only speculate ---in my view ------ but we have some freedom to choose and we have that freedom to choose where our Spirit and Soul reside in our end ---and that is what I believe Folks ------

I've very infrequently encountered folk in a great extent can take things in a vast con text (where con is against the proposal).

In life as a virtue of pleasure ... there are Pros. Symbiotic proposals ... hanging in there until sucking out the essences of the alternate! After this process it is proposed one forms a state of mind on one side and the other on the alternate side ... a psyche of + and - and thus heaven and hell are separated out as hot and cold, positive and negatives as the kitchen is fired up ... for spiritual cooking ... none of this taken as Freudian. That was all about vapors in the water fall ... ask the lady at the ledge ... lippy? Houlihan? Rasps Erie ... a feel of the strange adjacent?

there was no sin and no death in the Garden -----till the serpent arrived and deceived Eve and Eve talked her Adam into rebelling against God by eating the forbidden fruit ------sin entered and God in His Sovereignty said ------The wages of sin is death -----God could have Physically killed both of them and the serpent right then ---

But in His Sovereign Mercy --he allowed them to live -----but gave them judgment before kicking them from the garden
Why did god put the serpent there in the first place if not to deceive Eve into "sinning"?

Why would god put a stain on my soul, as a debt inherited from the moment of my birth?

What if the entire concept of original sin was the original lie?

What if the most powerful tool of control is not force but shame?

@unsafe Why do you keep trying to hand me the story of a fall from a perfect garden, a primordial act of disobedience that has tainted all of humanity?

What if the serpent in the garden wasn't a tempter, but a liberator?

What if the fruit wasn't from the tree of sin, but from the tree of consciousness?

And what if Eve's first bite wasn't a fall from grace, but the first step toward remembering the divinity she held within?

What if sin is not a moral stain but a spiritual amnesia?

What if the divine flame within you has never been extinguished but has been covered by fear, doubt, and the lies you were taught about your own nature?

This resonates deeper in my bones than any sermon on damnation.

I cannot see myself as a fallen creature in need of fixing.

I can see myself as a divine being that was taught to forget my true nature.

What you are preaching @unsafe is one single terrifying tightrope walk from birth to a final judgment.

What if your soul is not a candle flame extinguished after one brief flicker, but an ancient star on a cosmic pilgrimage?

Your doctrine @unsafe of a single life followed by an eternal reward or punishment is the most powerful tool of fear ever invented.

If you believe this is your only chance and the stakes are eternal then you are free to believe that.

From my perspective you have been fooled just as from your perspective I have been fooled.

Who is the most foolish in the end remains a mystery for now and a lot of questions are still unanswered.

I do not see this earth as courtroom where I am judged but as a classroom to to discover the cracks in my own amnesia.

The power of kings and priests is built on the fear of the unknown that lies beyond the grave.

I have often had a nagging feeling that I don't quite belong here, a sense of homesickness for a place I can't name.

What if the real fall of humanity was not a single act of disobedience in a garden?

What if it was the slow creeping descent into forgetting where we came from?

What if we are haunted by the memory of the light we have forgotten?

What if I am not a sinner but a sleeping god wrestling with the dream that I am merely human?

What if God is not a being at all?

What if God is being itself - not a noun but a verb?

Not a person watching the universe but the very consciousness in which the universe appears.

What if God is the very fabric of my own being and I have direct unmediated, unbreakable connection at all times?

Then who was Jesus and what does the word Christ mean?

Is Christ Jesus's last name or a title belonging exclusively to one man in one singular moment in history?

Or is Christ not a person but a potential state of consciousness?

I cannot 'believe' that Jesus was the Christ in an exclusive sense that separates him from me.

I can on the other hand relate to Jesus as a divine blueprint for a fully realized human.

This is the essential belief of much of Judaism. The metaphors from the Garden of Eden related to humanity's rise into self-consciousness; no original sin anywhere!

You twisting the scripture to suit your own twisted theology is different how?
Still waiting for you to prove that I twist Scripture to suit my own theology

This post you posted is just asking Questions of me -----and giving all your what IFs

You need to read the Scriptures and do some research and maybe ask the Holy Spirit to help you find your answers ---cause that is what I do and I get the answers I am looking for ----

My theology is the scriptures ----I don't follow any Man Made --Organizational Religions ---I follow The Way -and the Way for me Is Jesus ---who is the Word -----I believe the Word ----and My passion is studying the Word ----

Now How do I research --I look up the words in the Scripture i am Reading at the time in the Greek or Hebrew so i know how they are used in the Scripture --and i research who the Scripture is Speaking to ---the Jews or the Gentiles and I do read some Commentaries on sights I trust like Bible Get Away and Bible Hub --I like Matthew Henry's Commentaries cause Matthew Henry speaks about the Spiritual side of the Scripture and then I pray about it and ask the Holy Spirit to guide me in the Truth of the Scripture ----

I am in Scripture everyday as I am a hungry and thirsty Seeker of the Word and it;s Spiritual meaning ====and I am a Diligent Digger and a Checker of the Word ---

Did you know that before the Word Christian was kept by Paul ----the early Church was known as Followers of The Way -----

Why cause Jesus said----I Am The Way ------

Acts 9

Saul’s Conversion

9 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest

2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

My theology is the scriptures ----I don't follow any Man Made --Organizational Religions
Unsafe, you treat your reading of some of your preferred scripture like it’s the only authorized version that comes with a divine seal of approval.

Any other take gets labeled “twisting” or “not submitted enough,” so the loop runs:

Scripture is boss. Your interpretation is what the boss said. Everything else is out of order.

Where did your preferred scripture come from in the first place and on whose authority?

Unsafe, you treat your reading of some of your preferred scripture like it’s the only authorized version that comes with a divine seal of approva
and that is my right ---I choose to believe the Scriptures ---

Again what your view is --is your view ---so have your view ----your not hurting me in any way shape or for form ----thinks as you want to think -----you the one who is upset with the way I think --I leave the way you think up to God ------

if you want answers then rely on God not other people and what they think -----

Do some folk make biased choices without opening their minds to all the godly potentials?

It seems with the extend of the great mystery ... that it is difficult put in a boches or package it to baffle folk that cannot move ... the the walk of the searcher/seeker!

No Jaebius I will never preach that --ever and never ------Period

Lets preach the Scripture that says -----Truth --Free will to choose and a condition

Romans 10:9-10

9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.

It didn't there was no sin and no death in the Garden -----till the serpent arrived and deceived Eve and Eve talked her Adam into rebelling against God by eating the forbidden fruit ------sin entered and God in His Sovereignty said ------The wages of sin is death -----God could have Physically killed both of them and the serpent right then ---

But in His Sovereign Mercy --he allowed them to live -----but gave them judgment before kicking them from the garden

Here you go taking one word out of a whole piece of scripture and twisting it to suit your own twisted Theology ----

This is your scripture in Context ---19 --gives you Faith is your way to righteousness ----

The Power is in the Gospel to inbirth the Faith so you can be saved

Nice how you left out all of the scripture of verse 16 ---and 17----and you can't separate verses 16 and 17 there Jaebius as they go together ---

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.

Paul’s Longing to Visit Rome

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world. 9 God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you 10 in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.

11 I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— 12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. 13 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters,[d] that I planned many times to come to you (but have been prevented from doing so until now) in order that I might have a harvest among you, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.

14 I am obligated both to Greeks and non-Greeks, both to the wise and the foolish. 15 That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: ---Choice here Jaebius -------first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[e] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[f]

So here is your other scripture John 15 :19 ---and here again you are taking a piece of Scripture out of Context and have no spiritual understand of it but using it and twisting it to suit your Calvinism theology ----so you can say ---I"M RIGHT ------

So this scripture is Jesus speaking ---we are still in the Old Testament law here Jaebius and Jesus picks who His Father picks for Him ---according to Scripture ===

Amplified Bible---John 5
So Jesus answered them by saying, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself [of His own accord], unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever things the Father does, the Son [in His turn] also does in the same way.

So
He does and picks who His Father tells him to pick as He was looking for people to follow Him to be trained for His Discipleship -----

So God the Father in His Sovereignty ---again picks who He wants to be His Disciples to start the Church -----again it pertains to God's Sovereign Plan -of starting His Church ----so God did pick these men to follow Jesus and be trained -----

Sin is still only covered by animal sacrifices Here for 1 year here ----again at this point these men still have their sin nature ----no indwelling of the Holy spirit here yet ----till Jesus dies and is resurrected

So
This is not saying that after Jesus sheds His Blood to cover sin for all time and dies and is resurrected that God's sovereignty doesn't give us free choice to choose to reject Jesus or accept Jesus ------this is where God limits His own Sovereign power ----

He gave the angels free choice and He gave His Creation Free choice

Lucifer ---used his free will to choose to rebel against God and took other angels with him in their free choice ---and we have been given that same free will to chose to accept or reject salvation -----

You wish --but your wrong -----in that theory ----there were Saints but were definitely not perfected --in Spirit ----at the time they died ---they were deemed Righteous by Faith for the Obedience ------but their Spirit was not Changed ----your Human Spirit cannot get you into Heaven ---it has to be the Holy Spirit indwelling in you -----and that was not happening at that time ----

The Disciples received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in Acts in the upper room and at Pentecost were filled with the Holy Spirit -----so their Spirits were Changed and they became Heaven bound upon their Death ----

Ya I know what time it is in your Country ----Google tells me that -----I am not anxious for your reply there Jaebius I know you will reply when it is day time in your country ---just giving you much to reply to when it is daytime there and your awake to reply -----
The serpent, unsafe, fulfilled God's plan. For you to suggest that God “limited His sovereignty” to give man free choice's to diminish His glory. Sovereignty's God's very nature.

Lucifer’s rebellion was within God’s decree. Job 1 shows Satan can't move an inch without God's permission. For you to say otherwise's to make God reactive rather than sovereign.

Regarding the disciples, Jesus chose them, “I chose you” (John 15:16).

your not hurting me in any way shape or for form ----thinks as you want to think -----you the one who is upset with the way I think --I leave the way you think up to God ------
I am not trying to hurt you in any way shape or form. I am trying to understand your need to post pages and pages of scripture as though that is in any way shape or form proof that your idea of God is better than anyone elses.

Why did god put the serpent there in the first place if not to deceive Eve into "sinning"?
Through the Fall, WhyCzar, God’s redemptive plan in Christ was set into motion.

The way I see it, even the Fall wasn't outside of God’s sovereign will.

The serpent was there to serve within God’s larger design. Showing His word's seriousness. Human freedom's reality. Ultimately pointing to the need for a Savior.

In that sense, the serpent’s presence magnifies Christ’s glory

Sounds like problem reaction solution politics to me.
WhyCzar, feel there’s a key difference.

Scripture shows us that God’s redemptive plan in Christ wasn’t a reaction at all.

I love the idea that God’s story's purposeful.

From my perspective, redemption in Christ's God's sovereign will's outworking. I see the beauty in how God’s plan was woven into creation itself from the beginning.

Instead of “problem-reaction-solution,” I’d describe it as “creation-fall-redemption-restoration.”

It, WhyCzar, is providence.

I love the list of questions you gave to @unsafe. I've at times wondered such things myself during my own pilgrim journey. I'm concerned by unsafe's lack of interest in giving her answers to those questions to you. I'll do my best to share my thoughts from my Presbyterian persoective

Why would god put a stain on my soul, as a debt inherited from the moment of my birth?
The beauty, WhyCzar, is that God doesn’t leave us stained.

Original sin's doctrine sets the stage for redemption in Christ's amazing gift.

If we weren’t born needing rescue, we wouldn’t see His mercy's sheer magnitude.

In my view, this's a real fall in history that immediately fractured creation.

The “stain” is about honesty. It’s a mirror showing us our need, so that we can fully appreciate the love that steps in to cleanse
