So the semis are:

France - Spain (as I predicted)

England - Argentina (well, I was half right).

While I love the idea of an England - France final given the history between those two nations, I suspect France - Argentina (my original prediction) is still more likely. I can't really see England beating Argentina but who knows?
 
And the final is now set: Spain - Argentina. The Spanish vs. a former Spanish colony. I'm a bit torn. I have been to, and quite like, Spain. OTOH, one of my favourite bands right now is Argentinian (but currently live in Spain for career reasons) and have been doing some Tik Toks posing in Argentina's team colours while they are on their current tour. Maybe I'll flip a coin.
 
I've caught snippets. The help desk put the games on the TV screen that normally displays the network monitor. My office is off to one side so I don't see that screen but I find reasons to wander out for a look now and then. :sneaky: :sneaky:
 
Today's game for the Bronze was hilarious. England up 4-nil at the half, then squeaked out a 5-3 victory. The commentator to whom I was listening wondered if the teams had switched jerseys during the break...
 
Yeah, that sounds like it was quite the game. I thought about at least following it on a live feed earlier in the day but then an unexpected day out (lunch with wife and shopping) kind of threw me off and I forgot about it. I kind of wanted that or England-Spain to be the final but these does seem to be Argentina's year. Though most of the odds makers and pundits seem to think Spain is going to take it today. 3pm and it's in our time zone (New York).
 
People say the 3rd place game is more entertaining. All the skill with none of the defensive discipline.
 
I've been in England with my cuz at world cup time. But this year, we WhatsApp'd during a couple of critical matches and it really enhanced our enjoyment!

Neither of us are sports fans of any sort, but world cup...
