Announcing April 5, 2026, as a Global Day of Prayer

How about we commemorate a day of renewal called Easter Sunday as a global day of prayer for world leaders of all kinds? Not prayer that they may find wisdom in following the traditional self-serving ways and systems of mankind, but that they may alternately find and follow the Will of God that serves both Him and each other as a whole. Throw in a p.s. that those who support the leaders and systems of our world may also change their ways and realize that we all have it backwards. Forward this in any way you wish to join a movement and to make it a yearly, if not daily event.

Can we stop with the f***ing prayers and actually have our leaders do something?

Can we stop with the f***ing prayers and actually have our leaders do something?
We can't unless they first realize that they accomplish nothing by using the same tactics as their foes.

Who are their foes?

Look, this whole prayer thing is so overblown. "Thoughts and prayers," indeed. Saying you're going to pray about something is code for doing nothing and thinking you're helping.

Saying you're going to pray about something is code for doing nothing and thinking you're helping.
If one does not partake in the chaos, that is one less amongst the rabble and playing their game

Can we stop with the f***ing prayers and actually have our leaders do something?

That would be different!

I can't help it ... it has to be spit out with a hiss ... as I attempted to such some air in that the leaders are corrupting ... industrial fallout ... fallacy of logic! They just don't know when enough is ... it just is and they looked right through it!

Mores to ponder as we slip into a deep-hole thing ... Einstein called it dippy (spot in space).

If one does not partake in the chaos, that is one less amongst the rabble and playing their game
The prayer is the chaos. It's petitioning your imaginary friend to tip the scales, when we're trying to tip the scales against people who claim the exact same imaginary friend has their back.

It's nauseating.

There is also the thought that prayer actually changes the one doing the praying. I have my doubts that prayer changes God's mind about anything. Assuming God even has a mind to change.

That sounds reflective if not reflexive as the light passes through a gemstone of salt ...

It is said various salts control ganglia ... neurological hallucinations?

Right, but assuming it does change the mind of those praying, does it always change their minds for the better? Or does it contribute to their arrogance that God is on their side and therefore they can't be wrong?

The looming threat posed by the US toward Canada, Greenland and others, is coming at us with a bible in hand.

If there is something we can get behind that softens hearts and makes people work toward mutually beneficial solutions, it ain't prayer.

the History of this day

AI ----it actually started out for women ----later encompassing all Christians

The World Day of Prayer (WDP) is an international, ecumenical movement of Christian women, originating in the 19th century in the USA and Canada to support missions, officially becoming a global movement in 1927. Celebrated annually on the first Friday of March, it brings together people of various cultures to pray for justice and peace, with a different country writing the service each year.

I think that the OP is not talking about the WOrld Day of Prayer but about something different. TO this day the WDP is written by women in the 'host' country and often the local services are organized by women's groups in the supporting congregations (here it is the United, Lutheran [ELCiC}, PResbyterian, Catholic, Anglican, and The Salvation Army who do it).

One is "Global" and one is "World". Completely different.

Please tell me there is a Global Flat Earth Society.

It's petitioning your imaginary friend to tip the scales
No, we are to tip the scales by change, meaning not playing the self-serving games of mankind. However, as the Lord's Prayer says, there will come a time when man will rule no more, having proven ourselves to be incapable. Meanwhile we defend our incompetent ways.

God is on their side
Any Father is on the side of their children and hopes they will see the error of their ways. this applies to all mankind, not just the ones who have fallen for any religion of the world.
