CARNEY - Some people think......... How do you feel?

The Green Party offended me when they simplistically opposed all pipeline construction instead of promoting tight rules for proposing and building them. Sometimes pipelines are the best environmental option. Ideologies can be helpful but can also be harmful. Simplistic solutions are usually the wrong solution.

The demands of the notarized "enabled" and elites are encouraging cheaper life and thus we are humbled to animal forms , a step towards the green mile and greenfield icon! Vegetation because we can't control our noose on great desire ...

Of course such process depends on Cosmo-like vision ... that out of here item of worry?

Some ideas are hard for the alternate pipers ... trying to get wisdom into the improbable ... making me seem like impossible character in the narrative of wild passions ... no restrictions, no appreciation for anything questionable? The enigma of explosive lifeforms ... invasiveness and driving alteration of all we know? Cyclic vs linear ... I'd bet on it ...

Then there is that icon of a pedestal in a mortar ... foot in canon, or a foreign Φ, phi in with a turn; Theta or Omega ...

Lettermen have their own progression indicating what's beyond absolute, storied lie ... narrative ... not rated?

Thus censured ... san pipers ... humble ... little horn blowing ...

Does the eclectic just delay the final lesson, conclusion? bit more time-space for observation ... of the vast unknown!

When does the world switch completely to clean energy? If they keep building pipelines it’ll never happen and the younger generations are screwed. There’s only so much oil in the ground, first of all. It’s a non renewable resource. Fracking causes more problems. There are problems with refining oil sands. Pipeline ruptures damage ecology. Gas powered vehicles pollute. Those are facts. When are leaders going to be bold enough to transition to clean energy and create a new thriving job sector? When are people going to be brave enough? We moved away from steam engines. I guess if Elon’s Tesla dominates it gives electric vehicles a bad name but the technology is there for plenty of others.

Does it open a question about the ultimate conclusion? Apocalypse sooner as we industrialize and do not inhibited physical birth and growth? Only so much essence of spirit and soul comes down as it tends to float off as lost something or other ...

Three headed dogma coming forth with crisis? So it goes ...

You caught my question. I didn’t want to post it, I decided.

Most of the pipeline proposals coming from Alberta are bad proposals. The vessels carrying fuel and other hazardous goods using the passage between Haida Gwai and Prince Rupert should be as small and as few as possible. Enbridge presented a scheme which lied in its map and down played the risks. Another pipeline carrying oil to the east looks like questionable economics. One strictly in Canada is great foolishness from an economic and environmental point of view.

But there might be situations where a pipeline is the best option. Natural gas pipelines are mainly a concern in the construction phase. TC and Enbridge do not have great records. Tighter rules and enforcement are needed.

Does this strike one as corporate Mephistopheles? A way to say it that they wouldn't understand ... since that seems their way ...

Can you imagine a way of escaping this word of corruption, misinformation, etc. that isn't suicidal ... given that if you consider corrective crisis ... you're practicing martyrdom ... a love to die so you could know refreshing soul as in Eire? Even Night Ayre ... aye gamma ... where the unseen games go on ... innate, it is a war ...

I just listened to PM Carney's speech at Davos and was very proud of how he spoke and what he spoke about. I think the international community was impressed with him too, except Trump and his followers, of course.
Anybody else listen to it? It's on YouTube in full.
Impressive or not in your opinion?

Bloody impressive. Good sound bites AND very insightful.

"Nostalgia is not a strategy" was particularly good.

The world is rapidly changing. We can either kowtow to Trump individually for table scraps, or stand up to him collectively.

I can't believe how well Carney did there. It was brilliant. People are saying it's the best speech by a world leader in a long time. The best people.

I totally agree with you on all points.
All the "Middles".....YES!

This will go down as the defining speech of its time. I wish we didn't need it.

Imagine Conservative party leaders right now. Poilievre is still trying to complain about a half dozen trans women in sport, and Carney is rallying the world's middle economies to join Canada in new agreements for a new global path forward.

This is not a good look for them.

Carney nailed it. He was really on familiar ground there and used it to great effect. Apparently it's his 30th visit between his economics and banking career and now his political career. It pissed off Trump, which I imagine was one of the goals. And, yeah, I can't see Poilievre delivering a performance like that ever. This is where Carney's background and experience make him shine. Hell, even my wife is talking about voting Liberal next election and that used to be "when hell freezes over" material (admittedly, with this f-ing winter we're having, that could still happen as well).

 Seasoning over substance?

In short: Great for viral quotes and Davos applause lines.

“This is a rupture, not a transition”
“Nostalgia is not a strategy”
"If we are not at the table, we will be on the menu.”

My personal favorite:

"Compliance will not buy safety"

The gist of it:

"The rules-based order is fading, the strong can do what they can, and the weak must suffer what they must."

Boots on the ice!

I don’t like him. I’ll never vote Liberal again, or Conservative. I think I mentioned I voted Green last time.

He’s a banker. It was a bad move to elect him but Pollievre was worse. That’s how I see it. He won’t get most of us anywhere.

I don’t care how shiny Carney is. If he doesn’t address the MAiD human rights problem (ie. admit it was wrongheaded and work at reversing most of it) I will NEVER trust him. It would be foolish for me to support a supposed leader who brushed that under the carpet just like the last one. 2027 might be a year Canada will be ashamed of in the future unless something changes. Hopefully we won’t have to have our own Nuremberg type of trial one day.

People are happy because he’s not like Trump. That’s not good enough. Trump is a low bar.

We have no good leaders available to elect.
