I’m sooo sad to hear this. I sent her a pm yesterday, wondering how she was. I knew she was going through a lot but she rarely complained and I was hoping today would bring better news for her. I’m gutted.

 She has been a fixture here going back to the WC days. We followed her journey into RV life and then her cancer journey. So sad to lose her but I know things have not been easy of late. RIP, Kathryn. Condolences and good vibes to family and friends.

What a gracious woman to share her journey with us....Kathryn you will be remembered dearly. Your humour, your feistiness and your willingness to still care for others in your own times of need....just amazing!
I will always cherish your wisdom. You will be truly missed here.

My sympathy to her partner and her family.

I am so tempted to adjust the censor to enable "f*** Cancer" to go through uncensored. The Northwind Rule we can call it.

Saw an article about Thomas King today and it reminded me that he was the writer for the radio series Dead Dog Cafe, from which the tagline in her sig was taken: "Stay calm! Be brave! Wait for the signs!" Sigh. I'll always think of her when I hear that now.

Katherine & I go way way back.
She remembered my youngest at about 2 swinging around the poles in the hall during coffeetime. He's now 32.

We sang in the church choir together, fellow altos.

She joined Woman to Woman and we sang 2nd alto together.
We would oft get into trouble -- with deep barrel laughs, and it was always good. We loved hitting those low low notes that our choir director, Ann would ensure were made available in song. We would land them together.

Her spouse worked for a time at the same company that I did, so we knew each other as well.

When they moved away, we kept in touch.
It shifted though, at some point to wondercafe, and then wondercafe2.

We weren't always on the same side of discussions. Though both of us were passionate about social justice, we could discuss many items until we found a landing place.

It was good to see her when she & Steve came back to Ontario on holiday -- visiting at a campground, or having them hear for a visit, but more often than not, it was a Facebook chat, or a wondercafe visit.

I don't do heaven, or similair, but, when I wish / fantasize, I think how lovely it would be if she, Crazyheart & Seeler could be together, and Qwerty too, maybe Panentheism would pop in, and they would laugh, and tell stories, and share some tea.

I miss them all, and will miss Northwind as well.

I’ve been thinking of her since I read the news. It’s a really sad day. I wasn’t expecting this news. I’m in a bit of shock.
We had a text chat about a week ago, longer than in awhile. Maybe her way of reaching out to share common ground for a last time?

I edited this because I wanted to say it right. I don’t know what to say I’m just sad.

The situation was sounding more dire at the end of last week but I am shocked at the news. I did notice she had popped in to Like a few posts but was silent over the weekend.
