I acknowledge your words.

It is indeed. Canada's Original Sin.
Alleged, possible, and probable have similar denotations but different connotations. The TRC confirmed that thousands of Indigenous children died in those schools from a variety of causes including diseases, malnutrition, and violence. In the light of that report and stories circulating in the community, a decision was made to use ground radar to find possible graves. Sloppy reporting by the press converted possible to confirmed causing headlines across the country. The resulting buy-in of anger and sadness across the country remind us of the importance of how media cover stories in generating a public reaction. We knew many children died at the Kamloops residential school through the work of the TLC and others already. What was missing was information about where they were buried. We still do not know if or how many children and adults were buried there. How the media and Canadians pretended they did know know about the deaths or care about them until the Kamloops story bothers me

There has been a concerted effort to not reveal details of these schools during their history. It's not a surprise that they wouldn't be in a hurry to acknowledge and know the bad part of these places.

Other space-time events that for me check the boxes of this fine thread - Delightful Life

Climate Clap Trap?

The fact that none of the self-appointed net zero zealots practice what they preach while insisting on foisting taxes on everyone else as a pretext to seize control over every trivial detail of our lives, while pretending to be "saving the planet".
The problem we have is that the zealots mostly approach climate change on an intellectual level and not a personal level. While David Suzuki and Al Gore seem fake to me at times, I do not know how Justin and others are personally responding.

Applied essentially universally, the carbon tax is one of the fairest and most effective tools to use. Unfortunately, exemptions to some industries undermine its effectiveness. It is also not high enough yet to have a major impact.

Our political leaders of most stripes are unwilling to speak the truth. The only way to prevent acceleration of the rate of climate change is to significantly reduce our life styles. The fairest way to do that is to increase income tax on discretionary income and the GST. This would be a fairer way of responding to plastic pollution as well. Banning single use plastics seems to me to be lke using sledge hammers to build a house.

"The problem, researchers say, occurs when individual consumers feel that the cost of the energy transition is being borne on their shoulders — rather than on governments and corporations."

How can costs be borne by governments (who deal with higher costs by stealing more money from current and future taxpayers to "give/subsidize" someone else) or corporations (who simply pass higher costs along to shareholders (less dividends), employees (fewer jobs, lower pay), or customers (higher prices))? Answer: they can't.

The populace is conditioned to love the lie ... an anti-gospel thing that denies the capabilities of metaphorical communication!

Gospel ... once classically being accepted as truth ... long lost with the alleys (type of marble). Ever since the entire basket disappeared ... to the sound of a screeching lyre!

May explain the devil's activities in GEO Ghia ... Madison County?

So it has been a while
Has anyone changed their views on this at all?

It is substantiated by edifice and other fixations ... like a Thor Hammer Ring ... a buzz in the background ... Ham's, sayeth the Japheth ... that's the word ... all aflutter ...

What's a Lute here? Musky sense ... like opening the grave ...

I missed this

Yes and I was trying to be careful and precise with what I wrote there.

Seems I might have run afoul of information is politically polarized? So there is only 2 correct answers? Like what is happening in the USA, what with things like immigration, abortion, and whatnot?

So when the people who wrote that book that was mentioned upthread then get protested against because of the polarization?

Which is dangerous imho. If people can't use words, talk aboot things to find Truth, then..we get things like USA

So it has actually been confirmed that these are graves containing actual Indiginous? Can you try to find the link? I was operating on my current knowledge and trying to be very careful

My current knowledge is concurrent with yes, Indiginous kids did die in the Kamloops.school

How the media and Canadians pretended they did know know about the deaths or care about them until the Kamloops story bothers me
It is all part of Canada's Original Sin and I hope we can figure oot how to deal with it. We can't wipe oot history or even change it (I'm glad we can't...time travel would be horrorific)

What is your current fav civ or country dealing with their Indiginous?

Just look up at night ...

Expect that your eyes may roll back into your head and see what's in there ... resembles the conflict in New Orleans ...

I'm disappointed this thread has been resurrected. It was understandably started after a conflict that has since died down.
