The last two days were busy and full of peopling. I'm tired today. I'm working on a sock while sitting in my recliner and watching TV.

We moved Mom into long-term care today. She did surprisingly well. In some ways, better than us, her three daughters. We all had some cross words with each other or administration at various points. My sisters are powerhouses, and I'm not. So, I tend to sit back and listen, pipe up when I need to. We get along fine, but, at the moment, I need a break from the way they deal with things.

My day started off slow, with a little lie-in, then breakfast and whatever with the big guy, then I made lunch for him and our mechanic and drove him to get his car. Mechanic is about 20 km out of town, pretty drive if the weather is good, which it was. Mechanic's landlord has four lovely huskies, 2 only about 8 months old. Really nice dogs, although the mother bitch is a bit snappy if you touch her in the wrong spot, which one minute ago was the right spot, lol. After we retrieved his car, and the mechanic cleared a couple of codes from my fussy Princess (in exchange for lunch), I stopped on the way home to pick up Lucy's ashes. Sad. Big guy went home to putz and make me a meatloaf dinner (which is also lunch for tomorrow); I got some laundry and bed-changing done at my house.

That must be a hard situation with lots of emotions dancing around. You deserve a break so go ahead and have one.

My day was a bit on the Blah side. I had to go to the local hospital to get tested for oxygen saturation with movement. I was only told this at 4pm yesterday. Mr Curler had already planned to go somewhere for the day with a friend and wasn't much impressed with having to get a later start. After the testing he dropped me off at home where I sorta moped. Tired of my own company - this was two days in a row.

I did finish the tuque I finally got knitted so the day wasn't a total waste.

Good morning! Claire's first win, moving a parent into long-term care, cars and dogs, too much peopling, and other thoughts and events that come to mind; they all come with us to the Coffee Cart. Here we chat, support, and enjoy each other's company, over coffee, tea, and doughnuts. The coffee is fresh brewed, tea water boiling, doughnuts nice and warm from the oven. All is ready; all are welcome. Come in when you have the chance and join the fun!

Good morning,
Could someone explain to me today’s news?
The Liberals asking for $350 000 from each liberal candidate who wants to become PM. That PM will be determined in March- is there not going to be any elections?? Like of all Canadians, not just of Liberal party members?
And if this is a federal election- will the other party’s leaders also have to come up with that amount of money?
And who is getting the money- the government? The party- for advertising?
I find this very confusing….

Polity regarding the urge for leaders who are flaming crazy ... does something to the ordinary populace ... thus raising question about the sanity of the populace. It leaves us in a floating point situation. The humble people are all adrift in the great flood of power that seems to be flaming up ... a thing of abstract?

Maybe it is just a flip from the vector we were on searching out celebrity when perhaps we'd be better off with a bit of celibacy; containment to a certain degree? Being fully open is dangerous given those searching out every potential advantage that can be taken away and nothing returned ... like a truth in a domain ripe with lies in the layout. One needs some skill in reading into the item of bother ... takes effort ... not for those demanding to recline from blame and direct it to the alternate ...

It is a complex relationship between the two portions of psyche activity (a vague essence in a fiery environment). Learning is a minor desire ... or so it appears. None-the-less, if aware, it is depressing and causing some swing in the manic side ...

In the Canadian system (and British, and most Commonwealth countries still modelled on the British system) the PM is not separately elected. They are the leader of the party with the most seats in the House of Commons. If that party changes their leader between elections, the new leader becomes PM. That's how Kim Campbell and John Turner got the job, among others. An election does not directly decide the PM, just the party in power, who then decide the PM.

As for the money, this is a Liberal Party leadership race so it goes to the party to cover the costs of a leadership convention and to pad out their election funds. Each party sets its own rules for leadership campaigns.

There is a thread about Canadian politics in the Politics forum and further discussion would be more appropriate there.

@KayTheCurler i hope your day is less blah today. I’ve been there too so know how you feel. Except I have no knitting skills to make me feel I’ve had a productive day! I like the idea of suffering from too much peopling. I think I want to hibernate.

For those that feel the opposite end of sadism as the masochist ... I sympathize. Some are always up at a great cost to the humble society. Some have ups and downs and some are always under a hard power. Thus the subtle duck ... we look for the lower way out as kings were discouraged even in the scriptures of auld! One cannot read the past superficially ... the details are critically categorical ... too specialized because of professional avarice ... guilders? Much freer exchange is prerequisite ... but the powers are too corrupted (with one wealth or the counter) to agree ... we need to ante up!

Imagine giving life all you possess. Is this countered (alternate) by OCD? Incoming order versus outflowing order ... caotic flo' ...

It looks like it will be a grey and gloomy day today. Maybe I'll bake - I spotted a never used by me recipe for Barm Brack that might be worth trying. Hope you, and everyone else, find a ray of enjoyment in the day.

Weather is supposed to close in again tonight for the drive north (a drive I seem to be doing almost daily lately). We're gonna get out of Dodge soon.

They're calling for flurries, but the winds are coming from Lake Huron again and forecasted flurries have been turning into real snow lately.

Took big guy out to mechanic's yesterday in Baxter, hwy 90, wind came up for a few minutes in an otherwise pleasant drive, and I feckin' hate that road because of the way the snow blows straight across. I wonder if you look at zoning, and changing agricultural practices, as to why we don't conserve/establish windbreaks of trees to make travel safer.

Across the prairies farmers are ripping out shelter belts to create more cropland. It doesn't improve anything worthwhile as the topsoil finds it easy to blow away. Today's farmers are ignoring history and it will bite them at some point.
