What Legacy Does Trump Leave?

It seems Biden is siphoning billions in support to Ukraine and is now giving them the "thumbs up" for missiles to be sent into Russia, supported by the rest of the G7.
Surely this will escalate the war?
This will be magnified ten fold probably when Trump takes over and puts Pete Heaseth in charge, with crucial decisions to be made.
What do you think, Trump will do with that once in power?

I expect the support of Ukraine will stop, both in weapons and intelligence. Putin may be made aware of where American weapons are stored and will hit those places if he finds out. Ukraine will hopefully move those weapons before the inauguration.

Trump will champion this as ending the war. He and Putin will demand Ukraine come to the table. They will be told to leave the Kursk region and set the new border where the battle lines are currently drawn.

I feel that's the mostly likely opening move. I hope I'm wrong. I don't know what Zelensky will do. I don't know what the rest of Ukraine's allies will do. I expect they will continue to fight.

Putin already escalated the conflict by bringing in thousands of Korean soldiers. It would give Trump leverage in dealing with Putin.

Does Trump even intend to negotiate with Putin? Or is he just going to do what Putin tells him to?

This is the first test. Will he try to give Russia everything it demands, or will he actually join the allies and push back against Putin?

I expect the former.

Putin would have an advantage if he we're to strike hard during the inauguration and transfer of power in America. I hope Trump is being briefed long before he takes over.

By the way, I didn't realize Canada has one of the very best if not THE best, special forces in the world.
It's called JTF2.......check it out on Wikipedia.
We may not have invested much in our military, but we have that.

Hopefully, someone was eavesdropping on those recent calls to Putin before the election. I'm so cynical, I think those calls were about Trump telling Putin to hit hard temporarily so Trump can look like a saviour when the heavy fighting stops after he becomes president.
(Shades of stopping Biden and Harris' plan to put more guards on the border so Trump can do it after he's in the white house.)
Yeah and who knows what Trump will owe him.

The JTF2 are based in the Okanagan where they train. Invited a member of a sniper team to our place for supper one day when she was heading to downtown Wainwright and asked for directions. Her husband and child lived in another city. She had just returned from Afghanistan and was going through the debriefing process at the time. Upon invitation, she visited a couple of Social studies classes while she was there. The JTF2 are incredible. The US often requests them for difficult operations. I suspect her team spent time unofficially in Bagdad involved in urban warfare.

“The Tour La Vie trip offers a variety of extended stays aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey , including a one-year “Escape from Reality” cruise, a two-year “Mid-Term Selection” cruise, a three-Year “Everywhere but Home” option, and the four-year “Skip Forward”

• Price is $256K for one person to have their own room for four years

• $160K per person for a double occupancy room for four years

• Food, beer, and wine is included

The JTF2 replaced another special forces based in Ontario that committed war crimes in Somali. You could call it version 2.0.

Trump surprised Putin the first time with tough restrictions. I do not believe he ever believes he owes anyone anything. He continually chooses what he believes serves his own interests. When January 20 arrives, he will act for his own good. I suspect he will offer Kursk for the return of part of occupied Ukraine along with the promise Ukraine will never join NATO. Otherwise he could threaten to provide Ukraine with more missiles.

If he believes he needs to take a hard stand with Putin to gain support for unpopular policies in the US., he will.
