You are more concerned about the unborn being aborted than the genocide being allowed to continue in Gaza.
My sense is that conservative women and men across the political spectrum are just tired of the fakeness of much of modern American culture and politics. And that is a solid majority. It creates a conservatism that is increasingly united around the idea of real talk on real issues, and sharp divisions among leftists. Deep down, I suspect, even the most liberal voters didn't like how outsized an influence the abortion issue is having on their party. There are many issues of more practical importance that should have received greater focus.

The terms themselves speak volumes, Gord.

Biden is pro-choice, for choice. He wants choice going on. He believes it shouldn't be illegal for women to get abortions.

Harris and especially Walz are pro-abortion, for abortion. They want abortions going on
Sory I don't see how it is different to say that one believes women should have the choice to carry a child or not or to say that one believes abortion should be available. To be pro-choice is to say abortion shoild be happening if that choice is made.

At any rate the concern now is how far the MAGA push to eliminate the right to choose will go. And what the cost in terms of money and lives and quality of life will be.

The children in Gaza are experiencing daily terror, hunger, injuries, the deaths of family and friends, along with being deliberately murdered, and you think the death of a fetus that is experiencing none of that and is naturally at risk of not surviving till being born is equivalent? To me, that is a horrid equivalency.

It certainly is horrid. Didn't the Pope recently call what is happening in Gaza a genocide? Finally someone in such a position names it.

Here, jim, I feel you too are trying to paint me as someone who doesn't care about what's going on in Gaza. Which portrayal is simply untrue and unfair. The situation in Gaza is dire and heartbreaking. There must be urgent humanitarian aid and a swift resolution to all the violence

Trump's presidency will be judged by the extent to which he can bring these genocidal horrors to an end.

I am not saying you do not care. I am saying making the situation in Gaza equivalent to abortion is a horrid equivalency and your inability to see that is disturbing.

Trump made abortion a non-issue this election by making it clear he would not impose a federal abortion ban, despite the hysterics from some Pro-Lifers. He recognized the Overton window and successfully navigated it - a tough needle to thread!

That was a complete cop out that left women in the states choosing a complete abortion ban with no choice....and is there a law in those states that the man is responsible for support payments to any child they father, right through college too?
If you like mostly men making that decision for you then it probably seems great.
This is really a decision for women still in their reproductive years.

You can blame that on Obama.

In 2007, when Barack Obama was running for president, he promised that “the first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act,” which would affirm abortion rights and effectively codify Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark decision that guaranteed abortion rights as constitutionally protected.

Then-presidential candidate Obama made this promise on July 17, 2007 in a speech to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which works to fight for laws and policies to protect reproductive rights and advance access to sexual health care.

Obama was elected president on Nov. 4, 2008. At a news conference marking his first 100 days in office, he was asked about the Freedom of Choice Act.

“Now, the Freedom of Choice Act is not my highest legislative priority,” Obama said. “I believe that women should have the right to choose, but I think that the most important thing we can do to tamp down some of the anger surrounding this issue is to focus on those areas that we can agree on. And that’s where I’m going to focus.”

Or any other administration on the last 50 years

What legacy does T#%*p leave? Horrible misogyny. Brittany Page outlines some of the misogynistic abuse that is happening lately.
