Is anyone out there? We're wrapped in fog here. Is there anyone on the other side of the fog.
I read that and of course saw your avatar as I did so, and so I read it as "Is anyone out there? We're wrapped in fog here. Is there anyone on the other side of the dog."

And frankly, it made the post better.

Foggy here as well.

Great day with those two. Up at 6am, played until 9:30am, then went to the Butterfly Conservatory.
Ended up out for lunch for the transition.

Having a quiet rest of the day. A bit of tidying up. Thinking about Christmas.

Dreary drive home today. Grey, misty, non-stop drizzle to light rain. Ugh. But we had a nice time visiting with Mrs. M's cousin for the first time in almost 5 years. And last night was my company's first Christmas part since 2018 or 19.

Tonight may be dreary, but last night was clear. So of course, a car swerved around an animal, drove into a transformer and took out the power in the neighbourhood for a couple of hours. And then a police helicopter spent an hour hovering over our area with an infrared camera. Not sure if Hydro One were looking to arrest the animal in question.

Our neighbourhood has seen a big police presence for a few weeks now, as there have been no less than 4 home invasion/burglaries this fall and one neighbour was shot a week ago trying to assist. That same home was subject to another shooting a few weeks ago. In Nobleton, Ontario. Everyone is on edge. Police have set up a huge array of cameras at the main entrance to our subdivision. Not at the other two entrances, though, which I would assume the bad guys could figure out as well, but I could be wrong. I don't think they are sending their best and brightest.

The Facebook comments on the local pages are crazy. So many rumours. Initial reports were "shots fired again!" and "they took out a transformer to disable all our security cameras!" before someone came online to report that sound was a local car hitting the transformer. People are talking about arming themselves, of course. Like that would go well. We have roundabouts and people are always hitting the signage in the middle of them. Everyone wants to take a course on guns, but no one wants to take a course on advanced driver training.

But if we're driving into transformers on a clear night, what's gonna happen tonight? I'm ready for almost anything.

It's a nice day here, just a little cool.

Also, today is Pepero Day here. Happy Pepero Day, everyone! Today, we exchange chocolate dipped cookie sticks with family and friends

Good morning! Today we mark Remembrance Day, a day of solemnity. We give thoughts to those who fought in wars, for the families left behind, for those who never returned from the battle fields.
Today we also find joy in grandchildren, some anxiety in police presence in the neighbourhood, for the lifting of the fog, for all the other things that come to mind. We discuss them round the Coffee Cart, over coffee tea, and muffins. The coffee is freshly brewed, tea water is ready, and the baked goodies are warm from the oven. Come in as you have the chance, and join in the conversation!

And I've Pepero today for everyone, because it's Pepero Day ||||

Crazy wind blew through here last night.

Thankful that my spouse and youngest keep an eye on trees that are close to house and purge as needed. No branches on drive.

Ash trees are struck by emerald ash borer.

Neighbours lost some good sized branches

What does it take to set the bad guys free and out there? That is the question that we fail to observe ... why?

Brute force ... we need more to rid ourself of the humble ... our nemesis? Clearly it is unbalanced ...

Yes it was quite the wind around here too. Nature is to be respected for sure.
Thanks for the coffee, enjoying it immensely.
And today Lest We Forget.....our ancestors said " Never Again"
May we all learn to respect that message!

Someone made a comment about not learning from history ... the hate of what's past we'd sooner forget and thus ... well-you-know ... alas often set aside an eliminated ...

Windy here today too. And rainy and quite dull. I have to prepare a little talk for our Sorority (I do it every meeting). I think it will be on how to keep our spirits up in November. If any of you have wisdom in that regard, I would welcome it!

It is a downer by times and some lift may be used for a boost ... imagine ... Levantine? A hard dose of S'N? That is ambiguous in semi 't IHC terms ... as the difference of sept guint, septic and aseptic ...

Yep guint is a very uncommon word ... difficult to find a meaning for ... without transliteration! Even trans J'R Dan ... minor diablos (unfortunate person)? Possibly one enslaved to carry out another's mistakes ... this could occur in the quantum state!

Kind of grey and meh here. Windy but not exceptionally so. Nursing a headache from last night but it is almost gone.

Marking a decade since Dad's passing (Nov. 11, 2014). I got the news right about now, in fact. I had been at the LTC in the morning but he was alive when I left to grab some lunch and then head back to London, figuring there was nothing more to do that day. My brother called just as I pulled into a favourite fast food place, a South Side Burger where I had eaten with Dad once or twice. So I had a quick bite and headed back. Said our goodbyes then convened at brother's place to start the funeral, estate, etc. work. Went back to Kitchener the next day to meet with his pastor and other business. Thanks again for all those here who posted in the condolences thread that someone (I forget who) started.
