Yesterday, about 65,000 Korean Christians from across the nation got together in Seoul. The gathering went from a big public square in Seoul all the way to Seoul Station. They held a huge outdoor worship service and 10/27 protest rally. The protest was over liberal reforms the government might put into effect, including the legalization of same-sex marriage. I think, probably, about 1,000 people from my church went

SEOUL, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Hundreds of thousands of members of South Korea's Christian groups held a service in Seoul on Sunday to protest against a landmark court ruling that acknowledged the rights of partners in same-sex couples to receive state health insurance.

Holy s**t. Protesting that same sex couples will get the same health insurance benefits as straight couples is supervillain-level evil.

As many as 230,000 people attended, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing police, The organisers, meanwhile, said as many as 1.1 million people took part. Calls to the Seoul metropolitan police agency were not answered.

Heard of the "feeding of the multitude"? Apparently the organizers think this was the "marching of the multitude".

The person who told me 65,000 was a friend who attended the event. 2,000,000 was the projected number by the 10/17 organization before the event occurred

Because....God told them?

You can establish an approximate density of bodies with a representative sample area and then multiply that by the area occupied. It's gonna be within 20 percent, easy. This is back-of-the-napkin stuff, and more accurate with drones and/or helicopter footage.

Nah. No doubt a guesstimate. People guesstimate things all the time. The other number I'd heard was 2M, which it seems now was the projected number given by the organization before the event

Then they fell short by a factor of 9.

That's not exactly a rounding error.

When people distort numbers or grossly overestimate their support, that's just lying. I don't like that.

See. My quote, "Yesterday, about 65,000 Korean Christians from across the nation got together in Seoul." The other number I'd heard at the time was 2M so I went with the lower number so that I wouldn't be accused of over inflating things.

The size of the event was substantial, that's what's numerically important. At least tens of thousands of people coming together is really quite a thing to see. The energy they must have felt is something to think about.

What I love is the thought of so many Christians coming together from across a nation, from diverse denominations, to worship Christ. That worship is a taste of what heaven will be like

Not saying you lied. Just the organizers.

And I can believe that heaven will be similarly overhyped.

Not saying you lied. Just the organizers.
Am happy to hear, chansen, that you're not saying that I lied. As for the organizers, I'm not sure if it's fair to say that they did. I mean, the 2M was their projection of how many people would attend, and I haven't seen any kind of official statement by them yet on how many actually did. Here's an article that mentions the projected 2M: [Interview] Two million Koreans to unite on Sunday (Oct 27) to protest a law & prevent the nation from going down a liberal path

Is there madness in crowds as fed by a spark of insane excitement? Emotions are like that without stabilizing alternates ... the demon to those that wish to do what they want with not inhibitions as onus!

It goes both ways ... maybe more!

Here's the latest from the Korea Herald on the rally in Seoul.

The article highlights the divide within the Christian community. Many support the rally, while others criticize it

Some people declare there is no split or divine mind! The 2 parts are often un balanced due to strange essence!

The split is in people's understanding of the divine mind, Luce

Some declare it is a split between emotions and intelligence ... and some are really extreme about this so that intelligence is just out of ide ... especially any science that tampers with health, etc.

In some medical schools they call this the separation between allopathy and homeopathy where healing of the entire thing is inappropriate for those that are privileged! The view from those alter to the privileged belief system (BS?) may differ and unreconcilable. Consider how Trump feels about those he didn't choose ... it is like a mitochondrial disease in reality ... somewhat stupid.

If you survive it you may learn something. Then physical power declares the soul is nothing because it is not physically detected and yet some believe the soul, mind, psyche complex simply doesn't exist ... thus that discussion is out of the question!

Shakespeare posed the situation of thinking vs excitable states as the struggle over to be or not to be! Thus folk at me are at rest and you cannot touch of good portion of my composition ... as an unknown! You don't know how to get where I am ... the enigma of nothing ...

The advantage? I have much space to store thought ... and I attempt to do so without hate especially for the folk that worship anti-knowledge ... is that stupid of me to take a pluralistic path to the one way mob? I observe the oblivion from all angels ... what A' Din it is ... pure chaos as all wisdom and knowledge was trashed ... with a singular exception ...

This may be hard for a person devoted to one line to digest ... beyond what they believe is a great deal more that is sublime, beneath their vision ... subtle understanding? Imagine ...

I am sorry I probably caused you considerable confusion ... it is a great Eire ...know! To the Pics and Celts the Eire was the ground of belief ... distant islands of escape ... then the European monarchy attempted to escape there ... dissonance evolved regarding kings and earth folk ... you can read about it in the bible ... Judes against the Sami ... the powers believed the commoners to be Sate 'n satisfied with cultivation chores.

It is said the monarchists are more into tete removal ... deductions?

Makes for grandiose myth ... expect overlap like triune mental struggles ... lizard, mammal, primal ... and room to monkey about with gaping mists ...
