CBC is not hard left. You would know that if you watched, listened to or read anything on it. But don't burst your conspiracy bubble by any means.

I feel sad when people have been conditioned to seeing factual information as hard left. Also sad is people seeing caring about others, caring about new ideas, caring about the arts, interested in a variety of ideas, etc. as being leftist.

It's a free country.
I can read and comment freely on this National Post article.

Whereas the publicly funded CBC expects to be paid for their side of their stories without allowing the public to comment on them.

This is not my idea of a position consistent with the basic notion of public broadcasting.

There seem to be two visions of public discourse when it comes to aligning right or left.

The right one prizes the free exchange of ideas.

The left one seeks to define the limits of permissible opinion.

And yet it is the right that is doing things like banning books, SOGI in schools, etc. I guess the free exchange of ideas only applies to some.
What books are the right banning? How are they doing that when they don't hold power?

It is more common in the US but every year a list of what books have been banned or challenged is produced. Usually book banning happens at the local level not state/provincial or federal. Local libraries and school boards tend to be the battlegrounds. ANd yes those on the right and/or social conservatives are often the loudest voices. Books get challenged for a variety of reasons -- different people will have different opinions on whether those are valid.

Agreed, CBC is "soft left", for sure, in keeping with the general trend of Canadian people. Canada tends to align more with the collective good, with medical care, dental care, pharmcare, justice versus punishment, etc., than the more individualist U.S.

That's a great answer, Gord. Thank you for providing it.

Libraries and schools have only so much money. They simply have to be selective in choosing what books to purchase and what not

Those wanting to ban books usually want to ban books already in the libraries.

Right wing publications and media rarely cover material against the interests of corporations or extraction industries or cover them in highly biased ways.

About 2015 when he left the hard left wing lunatic CBC ago?

You appear to be waddling ... then if you go to either extreme: emotional or intellectual ... a character becomes irrational and has no onus ...

Isn't irrational kith and kin to irresponsible as the item goes around --- Art Hur!

And you miss the point. The point is that Libraries and Schools are met with demands for members of the public to ban and remove books they have already determined are valid additions to their collections and reading lists. They are already being selective because they can't get everything.

I just observed something I bet the individual didn't believe I was looking at ...
I just observed something I found hard to believe I was looking at.

Subsequently - Hard Right Wing Lunatic? - BC Conservative leader John Rustaad has called for the deportation of temporary residents in the province who openly celebrate anti-Israel terrorist organizations.

She was over the top at being out of line. Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations to the West. They are freedom fighters in the eyes of many others. They have done nothing worse than what Israel has done and is doing. The Mossad started as a Jewish terrorist organization and still are.

In her case, she could be and might be charged as committing a hate crime. I would agree to revoking visas of people who commit hate crimes. Why the special status for Israel?

Is the Canadian Parliament drifting toward a state of total ignorance given the stupid, childish behavior ... and children that cannot learn regardless! Then regardless is a blind option ... still something is mist! Absent Mind disease ... it just had to go because it couldn't stand the excess pas Zions ... maybe marketing of Goans and Goons ... thus gonged ... conchet?

Interesting info I heard in a documentary- Netanyahu has financed Hamas up to October 7 th to prevent other organizations who are for a two country solution, from getting too strong. Seems familiar ( US and - who was it -Osama Bin Laden?)

I do not believe he financed Hamas. He helped transport funding from Qatar to Hamas and it was substantial.
This reminded me that the media are omitting the role of Qatar in funding Hamas, and maybe Hezbollah.

The hard Jews are something different that the gentile versions ... almost biblical and in the norm ... few understand although there are those that are determined! IOuzus can this occur as a "sop" thus the bred goes on ... assimilation ... assimilating until it busts?

May resemble avarice ... icy ... even flakey enough to declare the twin is the cause ... it is always the other guy given the split in divinity! Takes a special medium to observe two ends ... very mysterious as the front end as is ... ignorance hidden in the as sasin? The sin being in the lack of onus ...
