I like this one, actually. Interpreting phenomena in the sky was a thing in most ancient culture and this fits that quite nicely.

GordW ----In the Old Testament God communicated with people who covered their sin by animal sacrifices ----Sin even in the Old Testament was a block for God communicating with you ----and that is the Same today ----God didn't change His way of Communicating with people ----
God is Holy and of course God is God and can do as He wishes -----but if God says in His word that sin blocks you from hearing from God and He breaks His word ---then that would make God a liar and His word nil in void -----here you see sin hides God's face from people --so He is not communicating with sinners who have not covered their Sin by either the shed blood of animals in the Old Testament and or by the Shed blood of Jesus in the New Testament

Well said, @unsafe. Receiving Jesus into your heart's a transformative step that opens the door to God’s guidance. When you accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within you, providing divine direction.
With the coming of Jesus, we now have a friendship with God through His Son. Jesus's the bridge that reconnects us to God, offering us rescue and a new way of living

ANd we are talking about a text that is also sacred to people for whom Jesus is not the way to communicate with God. How do we think GOd continues to communicate to the people of Jewish faith and offer them hope, forgiveness, liberation?
Then there are other faith groups but that seems beyond this thread
God’s love extends to all people. We Christians believe that God continues to communicate his love through various means. They include Scripture, prayer and worship, community and tradition, and acts of kindness and justice.
We Christians also believe that Jesus's the ultimate revelation of God’s love and the bridge to a restored friendship with him. We're called to share the hope we've found in Christ with respect
The "others" being Christians outside the UCCanada?

For all intents and purposes, the Jewish practice of animal sacrifice ended in AD 70, the year that the Romans destroyed the temple in Jerusalem. With the temple gone, there is no longer a place for the sacrifices to be offered according to the Mosaic Law (see Deuteronomy 12:13–14). Repeatedly in the Old Testament, the point is made that sacrifices were required to make atonement for sin (e.g., Exodus 29:36; Leviticus 4:31; 9:7; 14:19; 15:15; Numbers 15:25). The shedding of blood is what consecrated things and people to the Lord (Leviticus 16:19; cf. Hebrews 9:22).
With no blood sacrifice today, the Jews have no lawful way of atoning for their sin.
Passover is still observed, but without the sacrifice. Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) is still on the calendar, but there is never an offering made for sin.
The stipulations of the Mosaic Law remain unchanged, but the Jewish people cannot make things right with God—they cannot find forgiveness—without an animal sacrifice.
Modern Jews believe that forgiveness of sin is obtained through repentance, prayer, and good deeds.
They use verses like Hosea 6:6 to devalue the need for sacrifices: “I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.” Still, it is hard to overlook such passages as Leviticus 17:11, “The life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.”
The fact remains that there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood (Hebrews 9:22).
The animal sacrifices of the Old Covenant have been replaced by the once-for-all sacrifice for sin given by Jesus, the Messiah. As Jesus established the New Covenant,
He “died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant” (Hebrews 9:15).
Within a generation of Christ’s sacrifice, the Jewish temple was destroyed; the need for animal sacrifices no longer existed, for Christ had fulfilled the righteous requirements of the Law (Matthew 5:17).
Animal sacrifices were merely a type of the perfect Sacrifice—the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). The sacrifice of Christ paid the debt of sin for all mankind, both Jew and Gentile (Romans 1:16; Hebrews 9:12–15).
I say ----God cannot communicate with the Jews who have not received Jesus because their Sin turns God's Face away from them ---As per Scripture in Isaiah 59:2-----
God still Agapes them like He does all sinners and He does keep His Covenant with the 12 tribes of Israel during the 7 year Tribulation --144,000 Jews are marked and preach the Gospel during the Tribulation and are saved ------
Thankfully, I'm not a Wesleyan. I hold that the Bible's the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and religious practice. Which of Scripture, tradition, experience, and/or reason leads you to believe that the Spirit is in non-Christians?
As for the workings of the Holy Spirit, there have been whole university and seminary courses on those.
That said, I’d be happy to share a short summary of what the Bible says about the Spirit's workings.
The Holy Spirit's the third Person of the Trinity, working to guide Christians.
The Spirit convicts the world of sin, goodness, and judgment. This conviction leads people to recognize their need for a Rescuer.
The Spirit's involved in the process of being born again. Jesus told Nicodemus that one must be born of the Spirit to enter God's Kingdom.
Upon accepting Christ, the Spirit dwells within Christians, marking us as God’s children. This indwelling presence's a guarantee of Christians' inheritance in Christ.
The Spirit guides us Christians into all truth and teaches us all things. She helps us grasp and apply God’s Word in our lives.
The Spirit empowers us for service and witness, enabling us to be Christ’s witnesses to the earth's ends.
The Spirit works in us to produce the Spirit's fruit, changing us to be more like Christ. This process is ongoing throughout our lives.
The Spirit’s work's essential for our spiritual growth and effectiveness in participating in God's mission. As we yield to her leading, we experience her power in our daily lives

No one had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament ---the Holy Spirit came upon people to do God's work and then left
This King did not have the Holy Spirit -----he was not a Jew ---he was a friend of the Jews and helped them -----
What Empire Did King Darius Rule?
While King Darius I, or Darius the Great, mentioned in Ezra, was the longer reigning monarch, he is lesser known in biblical history. Along with Cyrus,King Darius was instrumental in helping the Jews, under the leadership of Zerubbabel, to rebuild, especially the temple. It appears he was generous and supportive of the remnant who returned.
The King Darius that most Bible readers think of first when the name is mentioned is the king in Daniel.
King Darius, Darius the Mede, was an ancient king during the Persian empire.
