How old are you?

South Koreans, until very recently, had two methods: Korean Age System where 1 year old at birth and got 1 year older on the first day of the new year
and the Counting Age 0 at birth then 1 year Jan 1st, used to calculate smoking and drinking legal ages

Human beings are so diverse :3

Does that mean divine or just dissociative as in OCD? There factions split as skits' ... ass quid? It could be a weighty sovereign or a lump of tobacco flying ... the meanings of word in a world of din is discontenting ... abysmal? Maybe a chit storm as fertile minds come onto you bit by bit ...

It was a dark and stormy night and included crocks ...

Jaywalking was a marketing initiave (to get cars more accepted -- listen to todays's Under the Influence to hear the insane marketing efforts--good episode shows a lot of parts of our lives were because of marketing efforts)
That over time became part of our local gov't laws

As a very new arrival in Saskatoon I was downtown to meet a friend at 6 am on a Sunday morning. Needless to say, all was calm and quiet. I spotted the cafe I was meet the friend at, checked the completely empty street and started across the road. Suddenly I was confronted by a policeman threatening to give me a ticket. Innocently I asked him what he was selling tickets for? He became irate. He told me I was jaywalking. I asked him what that was? He explained. I expressed amazement. What possible danger is there in crossing a street with no traffic on it? Saskatoon streets always seemed quite quiet to me after London! He put his little ticket book away and I met my friend.

Marketing is supported by AD's ... upcoming things to be questioned thoroughly ... yet thoroughly denied for strange and peculiar reason that remains unknown!

Expect streaks and dashes in blind markets ... darkly protected by folk being stunned ... a distasteful state! Yet, we all go for it ... bated ... and re bated ... with dark Rae's ... bad lines?

Maya sites are dangerous for the ecology and for scientists

Not because of traps or curses

But due to dangerous levels of mercury
Maya used cinnabar in their art and this has over time contaminated the sites

Sounds like a similar situation to the tomb of Qin Shihuan, the first emperor of China. Supposedly there was model of Qin's empire built in the tomb using mercury as the "water". Mercury contamination has apparently been found in the soil, too. Which is one of the reasons no one has actually dug into the tomb itself, just surrounding features like the pits containing the famed clay soldiers.

Random fact: instant pudding mix needs milk protein. Does not set with 'alt' milks. Which is why I served mud and worms last week at Vacation Bible Camp, in lieu of the planned dirt and worms.

ok
geekout moment here

was jabbering with a friend at the bar

Batman's villains seem to follow a theme: they are all damaged or deranged. Killer croc used to be human. Joker is chaos incarnate. Two face was driven insane. Bane is an addict.

Except the Penguin.

He became a mob boss. That is it.

I like the theme because for me it fits aesthetically with the Dark Knight era of Batman. He was driven mad in a way by his experience...now he is pure Will. Pure Drive to do what Must Be Done.

Note I don't think this applies to the tv run. That was madcap goofyness :3 That was Megaera's fav version and we both enjoyed watching them.

I'll third that. Yeah, they tended to use the villains more for comic relief than shock value. I think that's why the very dark portrayals we got from guys like Moore and Miller shocked some people. The idea that The Joker isn't just an eccentric thief who dresses like a clown but a seriously scary psychopath with a warped sense of humour was a bit of a surprise to those of us there for it. I loved it myself. Still, my favorite Joker is the animated one voiced by Mark Hamill, which kind of gets a bit of both in it. And it finally got Mark away from being known just for Luke Skywalker.

Thus evil is constructed within the system of unknown? Makes sense how we lose comprehension ... being we didn't wish to know more than what'd be Atman ... an ancient icon of something we don't understand as old ... history is distasteful ... until taking it scientifically and seeing through the obscurity constructed to fool the alien ... our psyche?

A virtue of strange personification ... what a buildup ... still we know little mores ...
