I recall the day my partner headed to the city to buyus a new Civic. He requested that I stay home (because I find the dickering frustrating). I agreed. He asked if there was anything he should now before dealing. I said "It has to have four doors and be bright red". He returned with a two door silver car that I hated! On the plus side- we actually used it for a year and sold it for more than we paid for it.
I'm glad the end result worked out. I'm with you on the 4 doors. Never had a 2 door car, but have gotten in/out of them when someone else was driving. Difficult for getting in and out of plus doesn't have easy access for putting stuff in the backseats either.

All the dickering is over now. This car has been on order since July. They were already out of 2022 so we had to order a 2023 and then wait. We originally ordered black but the one we are getting is silver, the base colour for the LX trim. No complaints. I am really not that fussy about colour. If I was, I'd get a Touring in the gorgeous blue that Honda offers on higher trims. Maybe if I ever go for something fancier that would change.
With the shortage if colour was that big of an issue getting a paint job done would probably be the easiest solution anyway.

Yep. That was my reasoning too. At the time we were still tent camping and it was so much easier to keep track of stuff with a four door model. I found the doors cumbersome on the two door model. Older friends needed me to help them in and close the door.

Yeah, I'm a sedan fan, too. I find most SUVs too big for my taste (my CR-V is small enough to get a pass) and have the same concerns as you about coupes.

We got rid of the Civic and bought our best vehicle EVER. A bright red Element. It was perfect for us and our lifestyle at the time. Camping, art sales, lugging ONLY two grand at a time!.

I looked at Element, probably when we bought one of the CR-Vs. Just did not appeal to me but it would have been good for what you describe. They should really bring it back, maybe as something like the Hyundai Kona, which can be bought with ICE, hybrid, or EV drivetrain.

I do like the height of the SUV. Right now many complaints across the city that residential streets are like driving through oatmeal and cars are getting stuck. Just getting on/off the driveway in the winter it's helpful. I think I would have trouble going back to a sedan Small, high and AWD seems like a good combo to me. Maybe next one I would throw in hybrid. Not convinced of electric yet with how cold it gets here (and I also wonder about how residential charging infrastructure will work). That could change but I need to see it work.

So we had about 15 cm of snow during the day, slowing down now over night. I had a cute observation. My Korean neighbours, who moved here in August, I had given one of my three snow shovels to, - and then we didn’t have any snow, were out shovelling. Dad had the big shovel, the two elementary age kids had small shovels and mom was videotaping the event with her phone. They seemed to have had a hard time to bring the kids back in the house, they kept shovelling snow well beyond the time the adults were done…

Good morning. Slept in. It is like my jet lag finally caught up with me or something (New Orleans is in Central Time). Waking up in the wee hours with a brutal leg cramp did not help, I guess. Oh well better now than Monday when I have to get back to work.

Message for tomorrow revised and ready and added to my thread on Epiphany. Sun is shining brightly, icicles are dripping and growing, and our laundry is finished except for folding and putting away.

Happy Lunar New Year! Especially if you are a rabbit, literal or by the Chinese zodiac. If your age at next birthday is evenly divisible by 12 (so 12, 24, 36, etc.), you are a rabbit.

No plans to celebrate much here. With us just off.a vacation, we have had enough food and fun for now.

My son is a rabbit year guy :-)
Started my day differently today - I joined a 'meet up' group called Happy Spirits (women only, age 50+) for a 'brisk walk along the waterfront trail'. BRISK was right - OMG I had a challenge to keep up with the slower contingent in the group. I bailed out about half way through their usual 10k distance also. It's in my neighbourhood, so easy to just head home. But I did walk considerably farther than I usually do, and a LOT faster! So that's good. I'll go again.
And arrived home just in time for Hillhurst service to begin :-)

Is hate literature something that contains a lot of emotions and lacking thought and intellect?

Hoo's to thunk that in depth ?
