Yeeks. We are back above zero this week (was 6 when I left home today) so not sure when the cold stuff is coming our way. Happy to not have it, though.

The family across the street put up a For Sale sign on Sunday. Bit surprised at the list price since I thought prices here were coming down but whatever. Their realtor should know better than I, I guess. Haven't talked to them yet to see what's up. We aren't really friends with them like we are with the seniors on either side. They moved in a year or so before COVID, then broke up during the pandemic, but seem to have reconciled and even had another baby this year bringing them to four, which might be why they are moving. That house is a four bedroom (including the master) so could get a bit tight with six people in it once the younger ones get bigger. Was looking at the pictures on the realtor's website, though, and the kitchen is gorgeous. I knew that the woman he bought it from had renovated but didn't realize what she had done.

Good morning. I've brought in a warm blanket for @KayTheCurler so she's warm on this cold day. We're going back up to more seasonal temperatures now. That will be nice even though it will bring rain.

I spoke to my neighbour across the street. She had moved in with her brother, two bedroom townhouse, and left her two bedroom for her son, whose unit was sold. Her and his wife and their two kids and the girl’s boyfriend together with two cats and two large dogs are now living there. They are using the garage for the daughter and boyfriend. Then his father in laws unit got sold and he and his wife and a small dog are now couch surfing for two nights in their living room and then go to the son for two nights. They have their names down for appartments everywhere but say it starts at $1600 without any utilities and they can’t afford it. ( here they paid $1100 before). There are other neighbours who have moved into campgrounds after their unit was sold.
My other former neighbours were lucky to know someone who was renting a cottage. They are waiting for a project to be finished- apartments for adults with special needs. They are both on the autism spectrum.
Their move in date has been delayed from February to April, but they were lucky their landlord is letting them stay until then.

That, unfortunately is becoming the norm.

Good morning! Weather seems to be all over the place, all over the map. This time of year it seems to happen. Finding a place to call home is an increasingly challenging goal for many. For these, and for any other conversations that arise, the coffee cart is ready. Tea water is hot, coffee is brewed. Come on in and help yourself.

How does such fuzzy, nebulous conditions exist for folk that supposedly see clealy the meaning of the Golden Rule?

Has the understanding been displaced as fools rush into power? Such is the passion play attempting to displace intelligence ... no checks and balances ... not well understanding the stand down mode.

Ultimately the entire closed unit crashes in stress related failure ... just to prove what mortals know of the immortal perspective ...

This can divine and divide the greatest BS! Thus parting of it into portions and it flies ...

It's like spring here on the island. I got a fabulous pedicure and will get a haircut in a few minutes. Then back home to work on the last Christmas present sock. This is the third pair that I've fired off quickly.

It was a beautiful December dat here and in Montreal. Took our granddaughter to preschool where there was a presentation by a person named Pascal with live animals from their animal rescue zoo including a bumble bee skink, a scaleless bearded dragon, a corn snake over a metre long, a gray and white dwarf hamster, a chinchilla, and a ferret. Then to a playground, lunch at a chicken place (Jack-le-Coq), and her home with temp near 6C with bright sun, little wind. M met us shortly after we left the restaurant. She had a little explorers program to run this morning. Then a stop at Michaels in Vaudruie Dorion and home. Unfortunately I was in wrong lane leaving VD and drove an extra 50 or so km on the way home. Drove on roads new to me. It was a beautiful day for a drive and now I know where some roads to the south of us go.

Good morning! Happy Friday! Yes, boring scan results can be good. Boring weather for driving back and forth can be good. A lot, sometimes, to be said for tedium. Be that as it may, the conversations here are never boring. The coffee and tea and etc are ready, let us meet for support, discussion and fun. All is ready.

I like boring. Right now Mom's health is creating new crises....this time her hip. We are treating her eye, her dementia, her mobility after her fall. Now her hip is preventing her from getting out of bed on her own. Can't get to see a doctor until January 11th. So....ambulance to Emergency might be the next step if it continues to get worse.

Nancy,I would send her to emergency to check to see if her hip is fractured, especially if one leg is now shorter than the other or even for the pain.

Oh dear Nancy - things sure pile up sometimes. Sorry you have so much to deal with. I agree with the other opinions given about your mum - if she can't get herself out of bed I think she needs an ambulance. I'll cross my fingers and toes in hopes that she will get timely diagnosis and whatever supports are needed.
