I'll gladly accept a warm drink and cinnamon bun. They will be enjoyed inside my house. Yesterday morning seemed cold, today is worse - windchill -52.

That, unfortunately is becoming the norm.I spoke to my neighbour across the street. She had moved in with her brother, two bedroom townhouse, and left her two bedroom for her son, whose unit was sold. Her and his wife and their two kids and the girl’s boyfriend together with two cats and two large dogs are now living there. They are using the garage for the daughter and boyfriend. Then his father in laws unit got sold and he and his wife and a small dog are now couch surfing for two nights in their living room and then go to the son for two nights. They have their names down for appartments everywhere but say it starts at $1600 without any utilities and they can’t afford it. ( here they paid $1100 before). There are other neighbours who have moved into campgrounds after their unit was sold.
My other former neighbours were lucky to know someone who was renting a cottage. They are waiting for a project to be finished- apartments for adults with special needs. They are both on the autism spectrum.
Their move in date has been delayed from February to April, but they were lucky their landlord is letting them stay until then.

Sometimes, boring is good. Not often, but here for sure.
Nancy,I would send her to emergency to check to see if her hip is fractured, especially if one leg is now shorter than the other or even for the pain.I like boring. Right now Mom's health is creating new crises....this time her hip. We are treating her eye, her dementia, her mobility after her fall. Now her hip is preventing her from getting out of bed on her own. Can't get to see a doctor until January 11th. So....ambulance to Emergency might be the next step if it continues to get worse.
