Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

In AB, the green Goals of Care document folder that are done with a doctor actually have the instructions to keep them on or near the fridge. Paramedics are trained to look there.
We were told the same thing when my parents lived in a retirement home.

Good morning. I'm easing into a busy day with a second cup of coffee with Kelly and Ryan. We leave the island tomorrow on the 10:15 ferry so will be getting all packed up today. I did some reorganization yesterday that will help the process. Also mental packing to prepare. It's a sunny day so far.

What are your summer plans in general, NW? Have you a planned circuit?

We'll be in Kelowna for May and Edmonton area from June 8 to 15. We'll check out spots between those places between June 1 and 8. Then to Regina for a bit and maybe north of Saskatoon. We'll spend some time where we used to live in the Peace Region of AB and BC for a bit then head south. We plan to be back on the island mid-August. We were going to go back to Ontario and NS and decided against that with the gas prices. We'll stay in one place for longer periods and try to take advantage of weekly rates where possible.

I'm easing into my day too. My husband is appointment-free for two weeks now. So...time to get to other things. Today, I paid some bills after I did the all-important wordle. I worked on a church service for the end of May. So interesting to see where I am being led on this one. I keep thinking that because I am no longer a Licensed Lay Worship leader, I will no longer be asked to lead worship, but I am getting about one a month, and saying no to almost that many. I guess we have a need.

Early morning here. We just have a few things to put away before we bring in the slides, hook up and roll away.

Candle Lake is beautiful with great beaches. Camp Tapawingo is on the south end of the Lake, possibly the best church camp where I have volunteered. Meadow Lake Provincial Park is also very beautiful with several lakes. I have camped at Lac Des Isles and Kimball Lake. The Qu'Appelle valley north east of Regina is one of my sacred places. Meadow Lake could be on your way to the Peace.

We cancelled our plans to go West this fall because of fuel prices. We will have to make the trip next year. Going to a wedding on Hornby Island this June means we do not need to go farther west than Alberta next year.

Good morning, all! Happy Thursday. As we continue to discuss where best to keep documents like a Living Will, and make plans for the upcoming summer, let us pause to gather round the coffee cart. All is ready.

I vacuumed the house one-handedly and now sitting with purring cat on lap. Just realized I had 5 weeks of no gas expenses ( the just said on the radio that diesel is going up to $2.14 or so.)
My mother‘s funeral was this morning at 5 am. Zoom transmission was tolerable, though the organ sounded terrible. Well spoken sermon, the minister really had taken time to speak to my siblings to get a good impression of my mother’s life. I liked how the funeral home set up the chapel. Every guest got a tea light at the door and put it on the little table as they came in.( picture was taken before that) I don’t remember having gone to a Canadian funeral where they had decorations like that .

Well we barely made it to the ferry. The sign changed to "one sailing wait" while we were in line. Thankfully we had a reservation. I also got on as a senior (free) even though I don't really qualify for a month yet

@Mrs. Anteater - so lovely to see a photo of your mom. The chapel decor is very interesting - I have not seen that here either. I'm glad you were able to tune in from across the ocean - that is one benefit of our current day tech I think.

That chapel set-up looks lovely, Mrs.A., and I see a distinct resemblance between you and your Mom. Glad you could attend, even if virtually. And isn't it nice when the officiant makes an effort? I've been to quite a few where that has distinctly not been the case.

Good morning, all! As we converse with those who make summer plans, and stand with those who grieve the loss of a loved one, as we carry on discussions of all kinds, serious or light hearted, let us gather in spirit round the coffee cart. All is ready, and the muffins were made just yesterday. Help yourself.

I was reading in the news this morning there is concern over spreading conspiracy theories. Is these are counter t this that could be relegated to a back Pew as an old and useless conscience?

Darker powers would depose that in interest of narcissi ... a blossoming evil? The enemy within working against Golden and Glowing Rules of demonic ... democracy as diabolical to the use of tyrants?

If power wins as absolute ... where does the abstract concept go? Thus the definition of Oh by ... it's gone ... OBI in a distant connection? Allows for another expression at the end of stress and trauma ... psychosis? This is blacked out for those that cannot get any further in the Golden Concerns ... ironic? Like being hit by an iron Wahl ... screeching metal ... time to get off that particular train ...

It. Is sunny and chilly heading to a lovely spring gardening day here. Listening to the CBC Ottawa radio host interview the provincial finance minister was almost like listening to a figure skating contest as he skates around many of her questions. It was quite entertaining.

Politics should not be entertaining. Sigh. This is clearly an election budget and it will be interesting to see what happens post-June 3.

Chilly here this morning with a touch of frost but supposed to hit double digits eventually.
