I was surprised to see BC drop the mask mandates so quickly. It may be fine for many spaces. I don't understand why they were dropped on public transit. I'm thankful I don't rely on transit and that I won't be taking a bus anytime soon. We will be on the ferry at the end of next month. I'm not overly concerned about that since the ferry is a bigger space and there's the option to sit outside. I guess we'll see how things evolve from here.
I didn't realize it was gone 100%. It's still needed for public transit in AB and healthcare facilities.

It's only required for health facilities. Dr Henry left it up to transit companies to decide. BC Transit promptly dropped the mask mandates. Dr Henry said she was trusting the good nature of BC residents.

Is healthcare a provincial legal requirement still or is it just their own rules?

Even Arabs crossing arid lands wrap their faces up ... with grumbling from those hating coverups but supporting it as sacred! Thus the unknown factor!

Here's a stat that would have been good to have had much earlier. 2017-2019 (3 years total) deaths from ALL infections in AB = 1076 deaths
COVID deaths in AB is above 4000, so more than 5x the death rate.

And COVID protocols also reduced the deaths from things like flu, (non-COVID_ pneumonia.

For rapid tests, it is now recommended to do mouth & nose swabs - it decreases false negatives. This was suspected early but I didn't hear anywhere in Canada encouraging this. If only doing 1 then just the nose.

We should just back off and die as this would resolve many of the desires of those executive's get rich desires ... and resolve the problem of eliminating poverty!

Some complexities remain for the simple ...

Depressing? Why of course this is the way things go down in the view of those above ... allows dark pearls of concentrated memes ...

Parksville. We would likely just drive if it was like a prairie drive. I don't have great memories of getting through the mountains as a kid. There's also the issue of what we could drive, Chemguy prefers the truck outside the city, but he needs permission to go out of the province for personal use.
It’s quite a long drive from Alberta.

We used to do that and Winnipeg as drives a fair bit when I was a kid. The BC ones were less often and we often spent time in Kelowna too, so those trips are shorter in my mind, as Winnipeg was often just done all in 1 day. The BC ones I remember better were from Calgary not Edmonton, I haven't taken a look at the possible routes but I would assume Calgary as a starting place would shave off at least an hour.

I'm also pissed off on the vaccination double standard. When I requested TIg after cutting myself in the garden, as vaccination was risky and different doctors had different opinions? (and I did have a problem) Medical office of health denied the request and insisted I get vaccinated for tetanus instead.

With COVID? Unvaccinated have expanded eligibility for treatment, no need to get vaccinated, even if it was just preference for not doing it in the first place.

What’s Tlg?

We are continuing to be cautious. Masks when inside anywhere but private homes. No dine in food - no concerts etc.. Hospitals and doctors offices demand masking. Stores seem to be 'doing their own thing' across the whole spectrum.

I plan to continue to wear a mask, when I work, and when I shop, until the numbers go down substantially. I don't wear a mask outside, or when I'm with the very few in my "bubble", my daughter, my sister, my outside dog-walking neighbour. I'll wear a mask in church. However, the masks I will wear will be 2-3 layer cloth masks, with a mask frame inside and a crocheted ear saver around my braid, for close-ish fit, decent protection and a refusal to participate in further environmental degradation.

I've been wearing medical ones, under my cloth ones. Not ideal. I will probably drop that soon for phototherapy, I am in and out pretty fast. With longer clinic visits or stepping into a large store I will be keeping that up. There's already some predictions a 6th wave could start in May. Hopefully it's a fairly quick one, considering the number of cases that already occurred.

I wonder about employees right to wear masks- can an employer make the employee not wear one?
If I was a teacher, I would keep wearing one for sure. What about servers- would an employer make employee take them off, the same way employers make staff wear a certain outfit?

I expect to see some battles about this at Employment Standards and Human Rights Commissions. Hopefully, they side with employees and politicians either stay out or bring in laws to support employees' right to protect themselves. But I suspect the "right to mask" could be a tough sell in public-facing businesses that fuss about "image".

Even Dante had a masque ... it allowed for the deeper understood to remain there ... middle earth folk that dig into the flat out dictation!

May pop up in essence of something other ... alien? Such items are greatly avoided ... as familiarity breeds contempt ... enigmatic?

Maybe literary device ...
