True. Grocery shopping at midnight seems unlikely to attract crowds. Personally, I would not go out at that time. It also takes some staff. Not sure if grocery stores are having trouble finding workers. And the Sunday shutdown for the next three weeks is explicitly intended to give staff a rest.

More conflicts in the battle of ... shop or not to shop ... ground effects may limit that taking off ... as fewer and fewer poor people can afford to live whether they chose that position or not ... thus something goes down ...

Doesn't seem so in my location (although the usual fairly high turnover - high school students). As minimum wage jobs go, it's one of the more pleasant. It would be even better if we could sit while working as English grocery store clerks do.

The emergency room doctor who speaks regularly on a local radio station said that his colleagues benefit from the curfew in that the workload is definitely reduced, giving some relief to the overburdened hospital staff. There is a noticeable reduction of cases from any cause because there are fewer car accidents, gang fights, shootings and other nightlife happenings. Anything that protects the healthcare workers helps fight the virus be it incidental or direct and here in Quebec the healthcare professions and the remaining workers need every bit of help they can get.
Germany has prohibited the sale of fireworks for New Years eve. Usually, Germans spend millions on privately held fireworks. Together with alcohol, this results in full emergency rooms. This is meant to prevent the extra patients, but it seems people now were getting illegally made fireworks or get them in Poland, which are a lot less safe. They did the same last year, and I guess it was helpful in reducing emergencies.

Calgary and Edmonton both cancelled their fireworks because of Covid. I think it's one of the safer activities but with the cold it makes sense. Lake had them prior to Christmas, missed due to the fire next door. I was actually getting ready to head out when the doorbell rang.

FYI, Ontario premier Doug Ford is holding a press conference with Christine Elliott (Health Minister) and health officials at 11am so expecting to hear some new measures coming out.

Kids will be getting surgical masks for schools but some are saying they need respirators. I feel like that's not really a solution to a school day. Keeping them well fitted for hours isn't pleasant and for kids who have respiratory issues that could be a problem. Also what's the point when they are crammed just as densely for lunch?

I was amused yesterday at work about the cognitive dissonance between freedom and speed of service. Two customers approached the cash, separately, 1/2 hr apart or so. It wasn't really busy, but all tills were serving customers. There were 6 open, but 3 of us refusing to serve unmasked customers. Both customers fairly quickly decided to request a free mask, which we provide, in order to get out of the store faster.

Ah the freedom of using some consideration for the other's desires ... very rational, or able to respond?

Thus responsibility in the order of word as applied onus ...

I do not suppose that they also considered the cognitive dissonance of agreeing to protect employees from infection, but not agreeing to protect their fellow customers, whom they have been breathing all over throughout the store.

I do not remember seeing anybody without a mask in in a store in Deep River or in Hawkesbury. I wonder if some smaller communities succeed at creating a sense of we are all in this together and for each other.

Isn't cognitive dissonance a kind of reverse psychology gone wrong for a large part of civilization that wishes to be tyrannically on top of the heap of crap we're in? Is there a sense of sinking or thinking inward? Odd stuff immaterial psyches designed by theosophy ... a blivit gone the other way for an err in spell hear as hex ... if you look in their eyes ... there is this fog ... like a wisp over ... what! Yep they eventually go down ... passions are like that ... frequently hostile ... the strange Wahl of the mine field closing in!

Maybe an older wiser settlement ... where the best sinks in? Good for the digs in a myth ... some say like a cabin in the isolate moonlight ... thus the brighter powers without twins can't see'M! Doppelganger theory ... a mire thing ... once myrrh-th raising ... a resin?

This was my thought when I first heard about it. Why didn't they just land early? Seems like planes do this all the time for less, with passengers arrested. Most of those flights though aren't booked specifically for a large party I guess. 2 tiered system

Not that I'm advocating this, but it seems to me that breaking of rules goes more easily if you don't advertise it...
I feel like all of these people need the military quarantine treatment. Some were allegedly using vaseline to try to get negative covid tests.

Invoking the Shadow-side as a cover up? This fabrication has been in use for some time for diabolical means ... some good, some bad, some ugly and some beauty ... like the beautiful mind ... buried somewhere! Thus minor expeditions ... leads to light metaphors of fiction and fantasy ... not for the absolute side ... they take off with little response to what's necessary ... networking rationally?

Like a spider on the Wahl mon ...

The hated, information and intelligence one can hide in a fabrication is diabolical! It is lost to many when scratched out on velum or other medium ... inclusive of the ongoing spot ... the end? Part of the profound structure ...

Eclectic????
