Hope the phones are resurrected soon.
Me too...I have an 80 year old friend who has a birthday today and I want to phone her!

Or not, she seems to get a lot of baking done without... How do you get rid of all this stuff you make, BA? Freeze it?
I did the baking before I realized the phones were dead. I eat it! ;) Yes, I freeze it too if I have too much to eat right away...niece and garbage man will get some of the cookies

In case anyone thinks only cell phones have problems like yesterday. Garlic-cheese muffins sound yummy.
Exactly! Cell phone charged enough that I was able to phone and sing Happy Birthday - she's going to call back as had company...Phoned Telus and was told there was a 3+ hour wait time to talk to someone o_O Phoned local Telus store and they found a work around on the website for me so I could request a callback - didn't get that option when I phoned - and wait time is only 30 minutes...just got a message the callback will be any moment (fingers crossed)...I remember the "good old days" when you could call and have someone show up at your door without any hassle

Just got a message from Telus to lock my house from my phone o_O Can't do that as I don't have a "smart" house nor do I have a "smart" phone...still waiting for the callback

Call back came an hour after I requested it - not the 30 minutes they said...after unplugging and such and still a deadline, they determined it's the outside line and a tech is coming tomorrow to fix

Check it. They don't necessarily tell you that they've been and gone. I got a phone call from Bell asking me to rate their service the day after my phone line was repaired, and I was like, "well, maybe someone should have let me know they'd done something"...

Happened to one of my branch offices. I had called in a problem to Bell. Guy came out, checked it, told his office it was fixed, and left. Never said a thing to our staff. And, of course, it wasn't really fixed, either. Needless to say, my next call was to a Bell account manager I knew and was not pleasant (for him).

He arrived at 2:45 and left at 2:50...returned half an hour later and left right away...back 15 minutes later...the good news is that it isn't my line that is broken...the not so good news is that it is the main line from my property to the exchange building downtown so someone else needs to come out to deal with it - hopefully tomorrow (fingers crossed)

It's the last day at the park for our friends today. The season is ending and we're all going our different ways.
