Now, I wish that I'd successfully bike-trained Lucy. I suspect that we would both have had a lot of fun and exercise by now! The first summer I had her, we had a sort of successful bike route, not long, about 3/4 mile, and I biked with her looped by leash around my waist. Dangerous, you'd think, but we sort of developed a rhythm. But I don't know what happened over that next winter, because when I tried in the spring, she kept on turning around and trying to attack the front wheel, which was a problem. I don't know why I didn't try what my next plan was - to put together one of those back wheel leash attachment things. Then the next winter, she broke her leg...and I simultaneously adopted a Basset who wasn't doing any "running with bikes".

It was wicked cold here (comparative; we had those nice temps last week), it didn't get above 0, -2 when I walked with Lucy & Griffin this aft. Was wearing pretty well full winter gear (i.e. just wool hat instead of wool hat on top of headband and real wool mittens, but not flannel-lined real wool mittens), still a bit chilly. Much of the snow is gone, but it's still quite icy in spots. And really cold wind. LAST.

We got to 3 or 4, I think, but the wind chill was bad. I tried going for a walk but was defeated (or should that be de-feeted) by a heel injury from yesterday that was irritated by my shoes.

Ouch on the heel. Sore feet are no fun.

I walked to the grocery store today and managed to fall in a puddle along the way. There was a bit of a ditch and I slipped on some mud and fell onto my hands and knees in the puddle. Right near a busy intersection. The only thing injured was my dignity. For a moment.

Glad you were okay and didn't injure yourself
