We haven't increased our takeout orders. But I know some people who have done this for something different to do.

I don't miss restaurants much. Maybe a little because there is one friend I usually meet for lunch.

OTOH not having a coffee place is a big loss. From a meeting place point of view.

Most of our stores and businesses are open - with precautions about masks, crowding etc.. Some sit down restaurants are open with reduced capacity but most have decided to go Take Out only. I haven't actually checked the fast food places, but I think some are open. We haven't eaten out since March but occasionally get Take Out.
The various 'beauty' places are open with reduced capacity.
Dentist, optometrist, doctors offices are open with precautions.
Needless to say there are still people who drive to the city to shop, and some have medical trips to do.

So Trudeau is asserting that he will have enough vaccines by September. That is his usual statement. But that is appalling. Europe will be done. USA will be done by June. Croatia is mostly done This is not big news or good news
@Lastpointe -- there is a thread for Trudeau dialogues. Can you keep this thread to the virus?

Ok. There is a scathing report in the star this morning of government ineptitude and coverup in the pandemic response to Covid

Again, can you please take this stuff to another thread. By placing even this comment, you call for a response.
Frustrated.

I listened to an interview, I think it was from a leader in Renfrew -- as they went green early.
They were quite concerned about people coming into their area from areas still in grey (or now red)

I live in an orange area, do most of my shopping in the orange area, but, daily am going to work from my other home in a red zone. So, I sometimes do some shopping there (mailed a letter for example the other day)

I was in the LCBO yesterday, and they were asking for postal codes. Now, usually, I chalk this sort of request into "marketing demographic" or something, but I've got a feeling it was for COVID-related information. Find out where people are coming and going to. Or not. If liquor stores are open province-wide, not much point going out of your district for liquor, unless you're somewhere else for another purpose.

Our LCBO doing the same. Not that they can stop anyone from coming into the store. The provincial lock down and stay home order has lowered cases but on weekends we have still seen the same amount of visitor traffic.
I read a article that said the issue is that everyone thinks they are fine and safe so it’s ok for them to do whatever

it always seems to be the other guy

my niece who is local asked if I was going to see our kids. I said no. I could not imagine having to retell my local grey Bruce health unit Thai was sick because I went for a walk in High Park in Toronto. How many hundreds of people did I pass. The thought is daunting

and I expect Barrie will see a big uptick in visitors now that the ski hills are opening. We have decided to skip skiing this year. I can’t imagine going inside to warm up,

Middlesex-London has dropped to single digit new cases for the first time since late November. 8 today. And there were 25 recoveries so net 17 recoveries. Active cases stands at 185. This is tentatively good news. Whether it is really good news depends on whether it keeps up once we drop to Red tomorrow.
