Don't wait. Go to an after hours clinic. Getting the anti-virals into you can pretty well stop it in its tracks, but the earlier the better. Signed, the voice of experience...
@Mendalla I've heard the same, go get the antivirals ASAP, they make a huge difference if started early. No personal experience, have just heard that. Maybe even a prescribing pharmacist can help, skipping the clinics (I know they do for cold sores per ads, similar virus so I don't see why not unless they are incapable of assuming it's shingles).

Cleaning done. That's my weekend. Now to start preparing for work. The GM has loaned me to a family health team that is hiring an IT person and doesn't have current expertise. Not crazy about it but I can treat it as practice since I'm almost ready to post for a similar position.

Not sure if I gave an update about the effects from the cortisone injection - my face looks pretty much normal which is nice. Things were to the point that just the normal swelling was distorting my face. The bridge of my nose was about double the size, without HAE attacks and then there was the leaking. After the injection it allowed the area that were consistently leaking to form scabs, funny how a bit of blood instead of lymphatic fluid was a good sign. They quickly peeled off. Skin is still peeling a bit but is minimal compared to what it had been.
Was recommended a shampoo - which I should 'be able to find at most pharmacies'. After calling a bunch I ordered off of amazon. Fingers cross for no reactions. I hope I can also find out what exactly I'm allergic too, even if not right away so I can avoid it/imight get Chemguy off any products with certain ingredients too - I already got him to swich away from some things with scents.
He used to get some of my cast off with shampoos, before I had bad reactions so that may need some looking at. There is one where I should actually post it to facebook - I just want it out of the house entirely.

And someone will be picking up the one that clearly triggered a reaction in a few hours. It's nice to be able to offload things so easily as well as safely during a pandemic!
The internet is a wonderful thing :)

We have a Salvation Army Food Bank that many donate to. We also have a small non profit charity that is delighted to receive anything usable. Food, household items, good clean clothing, bedding etc.. Things are put to use by people who really need them.

Oh, dear, the shampoo problem. Can I guess that it was "Free and Clear"? Ordered shampoo and conditioner on-line. $38.99 U.S. Got only the conditioner. No luck getting a refund/shampoo (American address, etc.).

Good luck. Shopper's Drug Mart sell a similar product that is quite as expensive, but a little more reliable in terms of actual acquisition.

I'm beginning to think that unscented Dr. Bonner's castile soap might just be a cheaper alternative, perhaps with a vinegar/chamomile tea rinse.

I know many places don't take opened items. Especially now.

That's the one. We got it much cheaper off of Amazon, Walmart was expensive to order - I think through a 3rd party. Got it in 2 days with Amazon.
I think some of the other shampoos may be ok that I do have, but it's so hard to tell when already in a flare.

What's the Shopper's brand? The ones I got were all in the Live Clean line. I stupidly made the mistake of trying the Professional one without reading the ingredients - wasn't an option when I ordered, my vision was too crappy to do it at the time off the bottle and I find when in an extreme itchy episode the best option is to get in the shower to at least get the dried crap off my skin. Stupid decision considering the obvious red flags of ingredients, but my ability to cope and function was awful for about a week.

Shopper's store brand is 'Life.'
I don't think anything in that brand is free of all the stuff that is to be avoided until allergies are figured out though, I think what Shopper's stocks for that purpose isn't the store brand.

No, I got a specific name from a friend, that I haven't followed up because I got the shampoo via Amazon, having given up on off-site American Walmart thing. And no, it wasn't life brand, but a specific, "nothing bad in it" brand available at SDM. And I can't find her e-mail with the name.

If you come across it again, mind shooting me a message one way or another? It's good to have some options in mind.

Good morning. all! As the sun struggles to get up over the horizon, the coffee merrily drips and the water for tea, etc, happily boils. Let us continue to discuss shampoo and other topics around the coffee cart.

Good morning. It has been raining all night. The snow warnings have ended. We'll see what the day brings

Good morning, thanks for the coffee. It's one of those days where I could drink it via IV.

Not sure why, but sometimes I don't get alerts, and i didn't seem to have alerts for room for all. I was 3 days behind. odd.

Good morning all. Our cold snap has ended and it is a nice winter day. Off for a walk in the golf course. Thankful that the cross country skiers have flattened the path for me

i have a bit of bacon and bagels left from breakfast if anyone is still hungry
