I think he's probably being watched closely by WH doctors and staff (and probably the military). Maybe doctors have sedated him. Otherwise, I think he'd have found a way to get on TV on some channel by now. Or maybe he's having marathon meetings with lawyers because he's in a bunch of hot water. Or maybe he's finally busy packing to move out of the WH. Just guessing - but whatever he's doing he's probably having a no good, very bad, day today.

It seems pretty clear to me that the only reason this happened is because it was allowed to. A heavily militarized police state isn't worried about protecting Capitol Hill; it's interested in censoring the internet.

It's pro democracy to exclude anyone that is not white? or from another country one doesn't like? Those that stormed the capital were not pro democracy they followed Trump, who was becoming very authoritarian until he was interrupted by losing the election.

I hate to say it, but if I was them, I'd be putting the National Guard out and declaring a restricted zone around Capitol Hill and the Mall on Inauguration Day. You set foot inside that area without being part of the actual event, you get shown to a police van. No exceptions. I know they are going low-key and largely virtual anyhow so I can't that something like this would be out of line given both yesterday and COVID.

Well, he basically conceded. Some people are suggesting that the video looks forced (I have not watched it) and are speculating that Pence and the Cabinet basically told him it was either this or the 25th. Pelosi is talking about impeachment but with him out the door in 2 weeks anyhow, not sure that could happen much sooner than his intended departure.

The article says he specifically mentioned Congress certifying the vote so that's a pretty clear acceptance of the result.
