Last dozen tarts in the oven, only one box made, and I'm out of friggin' wax paper, and have to get dressed and go to the store. Damn.

I have used parchment paper when I had no wax paper.

I have used parchment paper when I had no wax paper.

I have mistakenly used wax paper instead of parchment paper when using the dehydrator, just wasn't thinking with what I grabbed. Some of my dried beans have a little bit of an extra shiny coat.

What you don't want to mix up in the oven is foil and parchment paper. Ran out of parchment paper one day last year when I was making liver chips at low temps in the oven for the dog. Put down foil instead. Spent a lot of time carefully peeling tin foil from liver chips. @KayTheCurler, did not think of subbing parchment paper. Good idea. Just really need a barrier from the cardboard packaging.
