Oh, I'll say too it's not just me. Staff at the phototherapy clinic are a little loose with mask wearing but to be fair they are often finishing lunch while I'm there. They do wear them when going into a treatment room. I noticed one though has been wearing masks much more since she switched to a cloth mask, as she doesn't have to readjust it as much. She used to mostly have her disposable mask under her chin when at the desk, now I only see her take the cloth one off/down to eat, she's mostly wearing it at the desk otherwise.

The doctor I saw this week had his mask fall under his nose over 5 times in a very short appointment with him.

I find both the free ones that were distributed at drive thrus, given at hospitals and from a box I purchased that they ride up quickly, where they start to press on my eyelashes. Worse if I have to talk at all or with other movement ie getting into my car, where I take them off at least one eye is typically covered. One time at the hospital I was also given a 3D printed ear saver - even worse. I had eczema behind my ears at the time and the mask I wore in worked great, with elastic behind my upper neck and on my head. I had to take off the mask at one point I was given and totally readjust everything - 3 times. I wasn't around anyone at the time. I couldn't see to infuse my medication without doing so, and then when I changed into the hospital gown/back into my clothes it was hopeless (although I think that can be expected).

As long as reasonable materials are being used I think fit matters the most.

It would be nice if they made medical masks with a form fit under the chin like they do over the nose. I tried the home made ones and while they look better I find them " musty smelling" over time.
With medical masks I use them once and toss them into garbage.

None of these are medical masks, they are all non-medical, including the ones being given out at the hospital, they are just disposable.
I agree, it would be nice if they had something under the chin. I find they also gape a lot at the sides.
So far, the masks I wash have no smell. I haven't used it ye myself, but you can try soaking in a dilute bleach solution and then rinsing well.
For fit, I think some of the cloth ones would be very unlikely to be matched with not fastening behind the neck/head. I do like the disposable option when my skin is weeping for the toss option, plus they are loose so as to not aggravate anything. I haven't noticed the cloth masks creating skin issues, but can irritate already raw skin in a few places.

I'm not washing masks in the washing machine because I want "hot as the water heater gets" for masks, not for clothes (I have largely washed my clothing in cool water, so moving to "warm" - for my work clothes - is energy consumptive). So my towel rack in the bathroom has become my "mask rack", and what that means is that when mask comes in house, it goes immediately into "hottest possible water in bathroom sink plus a squirt of pure castile soap". Stays there for 10-15 minutes, then get a short soak in "hottest possible water in bathroom sink plus a dollop of white vinegar". Then a final rinse under the tap with hottest water. Then hang to dry. Seems to work for all, so far, and blessed be, my face is dermatitis free at present.
 
I got the new mask with the mouth area an acrylic shield today, and I'm anxious to see how that works. It recommends a wipe with detergent then a dry cloth to prevent fogging. Again, we'll see...
 
Haven't caught the video update today yet, summary isn't good though. They can't keep up with tracing, the system is also having issues with numbers, estimate for today is ~800 cases, we've had in the 500s most of the week.
I didn't see anything about more planned restrictions though. I feel like everything that was done this spring was pointless, other than having masking recommendations catch up with a bit of loose evidence.
 
It's discouraging to see the numbers rise and to see people still say it's not real. BC had its highest number of cases today at 425. Yesterday and the last few days were around 300. We're lucky here on the island with lower numbers.
 
My subzone isn't good either. It has had the highest numbers in the zone for a while, although we also have the greatest population (seems to be the case for a lot - I feel like we're rather underservered that way).

I've had that problem, too. When I was shopping this week I had to keep wiggling my jaw or tugging on the loops (since you're not supposed to touch the mask itself) to keep it up. Can't say I have had it with other masks, though, so maybe this one is a bit looser than others in the lot or something.
 
What's the purpose of posting about an anti-mask rally? Is this supposed to give some kind of credibility to their message?
 
THere's one happening in Aylmer of all places tomorrow. 7500 people but if you convert their covid rate to a number per hundred thousand, they are worse than Toronto. And apparently one of the anti-mask groups from the GTA is bussing people down to join in. This could get ugly. The mayor has already declared a state of emergency so she can additional support from the province if things go badly.
 
Sure would be nice if people didn't feel this need to tell others what to do by walking the streets. I use a mask. I've read the info and decided that wearing one wouldn't cause me any problem. I pretty much mind my own business about other peoples' decisions. Don't feel any need for demonstrations from either side of the disagreement!

New restrictions - 40% of cases are household/social gatherings in homes. So request to not have others over at home and restrictions to 15 people for the province, not just some areas. Obviously that won't fix 40% of the current transmission and household can only be reduced so much.
What about the other 60% SMH
