I'm not happy with the alleged improvements on Facebook either.

How do we go about starting a protest movement against it?

Most effective would be to stop using it but that wouldn't make a difference...I even had trouble posting my suggestions for improvements.

It would if enough people did it. Their revenue model is based on getting ads to eyeballs and if the number of eyeballs started decreasing enough to hurt that revenue, they would have to start listening to get those people back.

At this point, getting me back would require a clear commitment to privacy and getting someone other than Zuckerberg in the top job. He has become toxic to my eye with his resolute failure to take issues like privacy and use of the platform for propaganda (which, let's face it, is what a lot of fake news is) seriously. He regularly let's money trump ethics.

At this point it would take more people to quit than are probably willing too...also they aren't looking at their usership - the vast majority on FB are not hipsters though they seem to think that is the case.

Here's a helpful hint, that is still working, although it will one day cease to, should you wish your "old Facebook" back. Click on top right hand down arrow on the top bar. There's an option to return to the Old Facebook for 48 hours. You don't have to tell them why you're switching back, unless you want to.

Also, LAST, as I ponder the rest of my day, and my participation in Sunday's worship service. I will have to find something respectable to wear, unfortunately.

I called it an arrow. On the very top bar (blue, usually), the one with your profile picture. Extreme right of screen, should be an inverted triangle. If you click that, there should be an option to "return to Old Facebook", or something similar. (I'm in Old Facebook right now, so I don't remember what it says, and I don't want to switch back and forth again...)

Yes, except that my part in this service is a conversation with the Rev, who is, by nature, somewhat impeccably groomed. I always look an untidy mess next to her anyway (no idea of make-up, hair flying all over the place despite best attempts at management, a habit of fiddling with my glasses in a futile attempt to find a sweet spot), so wearing something tidy helps lessen the distraction.

But would people recognize you then?

Victory! I was able to switch back to the classic Facebook via the paper page as the option was front and centre - unlike the publishing tools button that I could not find! And the down arrow that @BetteTheRed mentioned shows up in classic Facebook but not the new.

Grrr...I do NOT find it an improvement when I have to click 3 or 4 times (after some serious hunting for the feature that used to be obvious) to complete as task I used to do with a single click previously.

@BetteTheRed maybe they are only allowing a certain number of switches per account?

*sigh* yes, they tease us with 48 hours of sanity, then ZAP! Back into the black hole of "new and (allegedly) improved"

You guys are making me nervous. What if the WC2 upgrade lands with a resounding thud like this? (Hint: It won't)

That would not be an issue because 1. you are human...and 2. if we should happen to complain, there is a human to contact

I think I mentioned that there have been complaints about people running into/over my sale sign on the highway (if I haven't mentioned it, there have been)...the sign is on the side of the road and NOT in the driving lane at all...well, sometime between today and the LAST day I had the sales open, the lines on the hwy have been repainted and where I put the sign is TOTALLY off the road and should not be impeding anyone's driving at all so I don't know what they are talking about.
