No, prednisone shortened my Dad's life by a good decade, I'd think. I also heard from a friend recently who 'acquired' a new dermatologist (they're rare around here, from a non-cosmetic POV, so if you need one in any kind of a hurry, you take what you're offered). This woman, without really looking at my friend's peculiar reaction (it appeared as an infected sort of eczema, but only around her eyes), and her wyrd metabolic history (very thin, bulgy eyes, probably some level of Graves'; she's had thyroid surgery), prescribed massive amounts of prednisone, which ended up, in a short time, doing some serious damage to her bone density.

Short is good for inflammation that can't be controlled otherwise.

I went to Michael's and bought some yarn to make a baby blanket for a friend. That will go on the needles when I'm done hubby's sweater. Thankfully Michael's is apparently considered essential. It is a big enough store, with wide aisles so is easy to maintain distance there.

Now I've got a good cup of tea. That's the longest I've been out of the house in ages.

I must get back to my needlework. Instead of obsessively pouring over the news. I hope to have something to show.

Good morning! Amidst all the creative crafts and other endeavors, let us pause for hot beverages.

Happy Earth Day, everyone! Anyone got any special Earth Day plans? I won't be doing anything outside, as we had 3/4" of snow last night, *sigh* I am going to virtually attend an all day "Voices for the Earth Summit" on-line hosted by the Pachamama Alliance. But I think KAIROS is doing something, and I think I agreed to something Facebook-y tonight at 7. Lots of candles in windows, singing together, telling stories, etc.

I am using green mugs today for Earth Day. c(_)

Thanks P3! (Fills her mug, porcelain, with jasmine green tea, the one in the gold and black tin from Centra.)

Contemplating doing the same but ... sigh ... work. Maybe after dinner if the evening isn't too cool.

Got a walk in tonight. A bit chilly but not too bad. Listened to a podcast of two process theologians discussing Jesus.

FYI Bart Ehrmans blog page is now free to anyone for 2 months.....usually he charges a fee for his blog and discussion forum and donates the fee to a charity.....but because money is tight for so many he's letting it slide if someone needs to or if they just want to check it out.
