It's a beautiful day in New Brunswick today. Temperatures in the double digits, even the predicted low of"1" will be on the plus side.
My kind of weather! Light jacket, sidewalks clear of snow so we didn't don't need boots. I'll sit for a minute and finish my coffee, then offer a brisk walk.
Who am I kidding; it will be more like a brief walk.
And the good news in this area is that the water is only coming up slowly and the floods are not predicted to amount to much. A relief for those who live on low ground who have been hard in the last two years.
I'm hoping in general that we won't have any other disasters going on in Canada, fire, flood, etc. I know here some of the limits on provincial parks isn't related to COVID-19 specifically, but about not having fires on top of things.

There's a rather large wildfire in BC that started Wed - just near Squamish - apparently a slash fire that got out of control. Some (relatively sparsely populated) areas being evacuated. I'm surprised there isn't a fire ban - because really - where are evacuated people supposed to go these days?? Seems unwise.

Edit to add - BC fire ban went into effect on Thursday - today.

NS has a fire ban for at least two weeks now- not because its dry- it isn’t, but to protect the fire department staff to have them going only to unavoidable emergencies.

My son has this vine in the woods next to his house and is worried it might be poison ivy- calling all nature lovers- could it be? From the internet it seems to me that poison ivy would be bright green in spring?

All of BC? I suspect it's that region though I'll look into it
Ah yes - you are right @Northwind - my error - it's just the Squamish region - as per article in Vancouver Sun -
On Thursday morning, the District of Squamish instituted a ban on all open burning, with the exception of small campfires (less than half-metre high by half-metre wide) and cooking stoves that use gas, propane or briquettes. Campfires are only allowed on private property and only with a fire permit.
Edit - but then there is this - from CBC - https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/brit...effect-across-b-c-starting-thursday-1.5534578 Looks like you will still be able to have your campfires :-) Camping without campfires just sucks.

Looks like it could be but I am no botanist. Image from Wikicommons but other pictures I found on Google are similar.

When I have seen poison ivy it has not had so much of a sawtooth edge & leaves are shiny. It prefers to grow in sunny places. I'd probably be more worried about the rusty barbed wire in the photo! Here's a good article that shows some comparison pics - there are lots of plants that look quite similar - Poison Ivy Look-Alikes and More - Turf King

Moor Ka Fini? Fine spiritual stimulant if not overused ... like the histamine-antihistamine balance ... few doctorings grasp this homeopthic missal ...

Always be sharp and cautious about guttural stops ... Ganess? You may have missed the how, when, why and age ... that's time out!

Greetings! Very hazy outside hereabouts, and frost on the ground. (at least it BETTER be frost,,,) The coffee cart is again plugged in and ready. Enjoy.

We had light snow yesterday but it is supposed to be warmer today. Fog when I got up but it lifted fairly quickly.

Little M served us his chicken parmesan for dinner. He learned it from a video by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Delicious. I have had chicken parm before but never seen it made. Might try it myself sometime.

Bright and sunny here but it looks cold outside.

* helps self to more coffee before heading out for a walk *

Good morning. It's sunny and nice here. The coffee was delicious. Our friend made some beautiful raspberry "cinnamon" rolls. The icing had lemon in it. They were delicious. I have a plateful here to share through the magic of Room for All. Enjoy.
