Lasting through another Sunday, but sure is boring with no bike rides on account of endless winter and church via facebook. One of the highlights of the church year for me is the live music on Easter Sunday. The music was fine today on the virtual service, but will sure be nice to be back to the acoustics and ambience of actually being there in the sanctuary. Supposed to warm up later this week so hopefully next Sunday will at least include a bike ride.

Bike riding weather here - bit breezy though - and the snow and ice is really melting

Bread almost done...next up, I'm going to make a white sauce so I can have salmon in white sauce on toast, which is one of my comfort foods but I haven't had it in years and years...I know I made white sauce myself when I was 12 or 13 for a Girl Guide badge and I may have made it one other time in my 20's (or mom made it and I just ended up stirring it for her) - anyway, it's been a while so fingers crossed it works.

This on line stuff is a poor substitute for actually gathering, if you ask me. But it has me thinking about how we can best serve the folks who can't get out to services on Sunday morning.

White sauce is not hard. I can do it. :giggle:

Ever see Vanilla Sky? ... it's saucey! A different twist on Ground Hawg Dais ... really dark humour as irony! Like trope comes back again and again ...

The most boring looking meal I ever had was - boiled cod, white sauce, mashed potatoes and cauliflower. Served tastefully on white china.

Agreed, a couple of notable comments: from the daughter of a 90-something-year old, "she's watched this week's service 4 times already; can you do this for her at least all winter?"; "can it always run under 40 minutes?"

Our local church services have been online for well over a year (maybe 2 or more even) and I have yet to actually watch a service.

Ours are posted on FB every week. There is very little editing done and I find a full length service doesn't really hold my attention. I never look at it unless I have missed the actual service. I have some privacy concerns about the prayers of the people in particular. But we have been told that some folks really value being able to see worship online every week.

If they are mentioned in a public venue they aren't really private - though the line is kinda blurry when online.
