In the context of imitation is the best flattery ... what happens to the freedom of exploration of all domains ... inclusive of beliefs in madness? Then we get questions about the watering down of forms to serve hegemony ... the journey of life that leaves one with the sense of Unsatisfied Soul? Sheer madness of transparency ... have you ever seen examples of people mimicking or mocking tyrants so as to get a head?

Then there is the dark genre of To Kill a Mockingbird ... and exemptions of those that took to high flight away from such conned formations by powerful academics (hardly conforming to humanitarian needs) that didn't really know up from down as in the attached article:

Consider the strangeness of the personality disorder from the country of Galilee ... and do we really know where that spook is doing the haunting? Ghosts of sparing nature ... that whip us out of here when enough is enough ... one way or the other!

What do we really understand about the essence of sol? In my books it is an eternally open ended question ... considering that as emotionally disturbed to great depths ... there in no end to the rationale of the why and wherefore ... when we'd sooner deny disorder's existence.

There ... does that put some order to the Eris of a Rose ... that is thorns as a crown? Roses are demanding flowers ... like snow flowers ... or the mental image of someone coming out of Alpine highs ... Hei Dei? One should wake to the abstract Deis! The Shadow prevails as doubt; if encountered ... just doubt ... for we really know little!

Consider partisan disruption of politix ... is it mad too?
I'm afraid that reason will triumph and that the world will become a place where anyone who doesn't fit that will become unnecessary.

This song literally transported me to a good space. Sit by the fireplace or candlelight, with the headphones on, and turn it up. When I close my eyes I can "see" the music. It's amazing. Thought my mind was gonna 'splode. It's from Michael Kiwanuka's new album. This man is a way underrated talent. He's been recording for several years now.

Had Laws of Illusion by Sarah McLachlan on during my walk today. I was a huge fan through the nineties but kind of lost interest for a while in the 00s so more or less missed this one. It's actually a pretty good album even if there are none of the "wow" moments that drew me to her earlier work (i.e. magnificent songs like "Vox", "Path of Thorns", "Possession", "Building a Mystery"). And I think that's why I lost interest. After Surfacing, she seemed to settle into a groove and didn't evolve as dramatically as she did over the first four or so albums. She's still by far one of the best singers and songwriters around during this period, just a bit less exciting (to me at least) than in the first decade of her career.

A couple tracks from Laws:

And is Sarah in any of the various music halls of fame yet? She's not that much younger than me and has been at this since she was twenty or so, so surely she's due.

Okay, @BethAnne introduced me to Maya Rae over in Last Post and, damn, I am now working my way through Maya's YouTube channel. Here she is doing a jazz standard from the fifties. Props to pianist Miles Black, too. Great solo there in the middle.

At 13 covering Ordinary Miracle, written by Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette's producer and co-writer) and Dave Stewart, originally sung by Sarah McLachlan. She wasn't quite in Sarah's league at this age but she's pretty much getting there now.

I just love Michael Kiwanuka...ever since I first heard him, I thought, “Timeless artists like this don’t come around often anymore.” He has a retro sound, but it’s unique. He’s a natural too, it’s not too showy or contrived.

This song starts slow and kicks up around 1:30. Looks like a good live gig.

What do get when put Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland of Coldplay in an NPR office with a gospel group? 20 minutes of musical heaven. Three of their own songs plus a stellar cover of 1999 by Prince. And this was my exercise music tonight. Let's just say my vocal chords got a workout, too (singing along with"Viva la Vida" is a thing for me).

We are one even in our sic and broken state ... separated and divided into sectors that believe they should resist and fight it ... the struggle to stay sane remains!
