I believe that while everyone is created by God, not everyone is God's child.

"But how many ever received him, he gave to them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in his name; the which not of bloods, neither of the will of flesh, neither of the will of man, but be born of God." - John 1:12-13 (WYC).

It is the people spoken of here whom I hold to be Christ's brethren.

You may still be wrong. Peter said to Cornelius, 'God shows no partiality'. A person in need is a person in need, period. Recall the Good Samaritan, who, according to the religious authorities of Jesus' tradition, was a vile unbeliever. Yet in the story he comes through shining like a star.

Wrong about what exactly Redbaron? I'm all for helping people in need regardless of their people-group or religion.

So, if I read your somewhat convoluted postings correctly, you're saying that God has free will to accept or reject God?

we are created in Gods Image, we have free will just Like God, to accept or refuses to be With Him,

thus not all will end up in Heaven

The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats is all about Judgment it is definitely not about serving your neighbour -------

The Sheep are the righteous and the Goats are the unrighteous -----the sheep on the right are Heaven bound ---the Goats on the left are not heaven bound ------anyone who takes the Parable as serving your neighbour is Wrongly dividing the word -------Period ----

I am curious Jae. How do you address this belief vis a vis people who do not have the capacity to "believe" or understand issues of faith. For example young children, or people with profound cognitive impairment.

Hi,
”You are to love God with an undivided heart and, you are to love your neighbour as yourself.” The rich young ruler asks “who is my neighbour?”

George

your both right and wrong, sheep and goats exist, but Jesus says don't worry about who is a sheep or goat, what kind of a heart do you have? be a neighbor, and leave the Judgement up to God

I believe that if they receive Christ, they'll become children of God.

GeoFee ---We are to Agape God ----Agape is a fruit of the Spirit -----we have to have the Holy Spirit in us before we can Agape God with all our heart ---all our Soul and all your mind ------and only after we Agape God can we agape our neighbour ------

but that wasn't her question, her question was, what if they don't have the ability to believe like children or the mentally ect ect

Actually, her question was, " How do you address this belief vis a vis people who do not have the capacity to "believe" or understand issues of faith."

I believe I've answered it.

I believe that if they receive Christ, they'll become children of God.
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus suggests otherwise:

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." (Matthew 5:9 NRSV)

How does that contradict what I shared?
Did I say it contradicted your statement? I said Jesus suggested otherwise in the sermon on the mount.

At the very least, it is a different emphasis in a different context.

No, not really. How does a person who lacks the capacity to understand "receive Jesus" in your view?
