I discovered Haley Johnsen via a Hound + Fox video (which I posted in the Christmas music thread). Here she is with one of her own compositions. Her channel doesn't have many subscribers. Hope that changes. She deserves to be heard more widely.

Kina Grannis with a cover of a song that, as she explains in the afterword, gave her a moment or two of self-insight.

And her hubby with a very nice Beatles cover. "Let it be" is a marvellous composition by Paul McCartney and holds up very well stripped to the bare bones like this.

And, as with Imaginary Future's last video, the afterword is his wife interviewing him. I suspect this may be Kina's way to get Jesse to talk more on camera, as his older videos tended to just end after the song.

I fell in love with Annie Lennox's voice and songwriting way back in the early days of Eurythmics. She seems to be on a bit of an upswing these days and I think this new song shows why. Gorgeous piece from the soundtrack of A Private War, a biopic about war correspondent Marie Colvin that recently came out.

I was looking her up recently and I can’t remember why...if some other music led to me listening to her? Oh yeah, it was because I saw Bohemian Rhapsody and I was watching Queen videos...then I made my way to the Lennox/ Bowie onstage tribute to Freddie Mercury, singing a duet of Under Pressure. Maybe a lot of people did the same after seeing the movie.

We're getting the kids at the academy ready for their big Christmas party by teaching them songs from Frozen.

Brandi Carlile has come up a couple times in this thread already. The new video for her song Party of One, starring and directed by Elizabeth Moss, is a powerful, beautiful work of art.

BTW, Brandi picked up four Grammy nominations including Record of the Year, Album of the Year (for By the Way, I Forgive You, which includes the song above), Best American Roots Song, and Song of the Year. All except Album were for her song The Joke.

Silence and blindness for loyalty is best so don't say it and few are required to listen ... well!

God gave to song for ... allowing the dark to arrive ... thus the rest ... opposing the the right load ... politicians, etc.

Imminent collapse pre vales? ABBA de Nous?

Paul McCartney continues to impress me with his new material. Good song with a terrific video starring Paul and actress Emma Stone.

And Julia Westlin with a cover of a song by Lauren Daigle (who I shall now look into further).

Whether with her own band, Lake Street Dive, behind her or performing with others, Racheal Price is simply one of the best female voices going today. Here she joins Chris Thiele and the Live From Here house band for a cover of a classic.

I like the Paul McCartney song (and video), in particular. I’ve heard a couple of his new songs ... both quite good. I wasn’t expecting them to be that good this late in his music career. I thought he started to lose his songwriting mojo in the 80’s, but I was wrong.
