Just north of my home, between my house and my church, about 2 km, is a stream, which wends its way, above ground and below, towards Little Lake, a large pond really, only about 8' deep in the centre, at the northern edge of the city. It's no problem where it's above ground. Where it's a problem is where it runs under a major intersection. That bit of road, particularly this time of year, no matter how many times they dig it up, fix stuff, put it back together, is like a corduroy road made out of 4' wide trees; it's very wavy... I drove by it yesterday (several times, of course, having been to the church on three independent occasions yesterday) and there were service trucks and digging machines all over the place. Yet again. We need some Romans. This creek, which is not even named, could do with an aqueduct or two.
No flowers or green yet. There's only an inch or two of snow, except for a few persistent snowbanks. There's buds on trees, though, and I need to get out and prune grape vines stat. According to my maple tree friend who has a small sugar operation, the sap had been running well until slowed by this recent cold-ish snap.
