I am learning why I am now the manager of a team rather than solo. Two of my staff are out at a conference and I've done nothing but deal with help desk tickets since I came in.:nerd:

* gets a kettle going and then slumps in a chair *

Oh Mendalla - maybe being the help desk ticket guy is not fun for you - but those of us who rely on such people are SO grateful you are there!!
Hope you had a good cuppa tea (or whatever!) and you day brightened up a bit.

You know, I used to be the entire department up until a decade or so ago. Help desk, manager, systems development, you name it. Now that I have staff doing a lot of the day-to-day stuff, I've kind of forgotten those days until a day like this comes along.

I currently have a very nice, quality green tea in my credenza, one that Mrs. M brought home from China last year. Good stuff. Very mild flavour and doesn't get a bitter edge on it even if I oversteep it.

Do you often over step the steeps ... right in there with Sisyphus ... and into the dark pool ... promoting inquisition ... question!

Remember common folk at paganized this way ... repaginated ...

Well, it's Friday night again :-) We're lucky to be cozy here (and my thoughts turn to those who are not). The weekend weather for southern Ontario is focused on a potentially damaging ice storm - we shall see what comes. But now I'm turning off the computer and going to sit by the fire with my knitting. Cozy up friends.

Yeah, this sounds really nasty if it lives up to its billing. We shall see. Nothing much planned for this weekend beyond routine shopping so I think we can ride this out unless power goes out for an extended period or something.

I had a friend ping me from the west, who expressed concern regarding the hoeless. He shared that many programs had shut their doors already. (I don't know if that is true)

Across Canada, most overnight programs end March 31st. Actually, a weekend of ice storms might be less inconvenience to the homeless than to other populations. They're quite used to inclement weather and to scrounging hydro to charge devices, etc...

City of Toronto announced that they will be keeping emergency warming centres open - they usually do close by this time of year.

We've had rain and ice pellets so far this morning ... good day to stay in. I think I will make some bread - so I hope the power stays on for long enough to bake it! Touch wood on that point!!

We have a warming centre that is attached to our homeless shelter. I think it is now open year round. That's good in this part of the world. Also, we have the highest death rate from Fentanyl overdoses here so it is a good service for some of our addicts. The group that runs the shelter is also part of the process to try to address the opiate crisis. Hopefully we can find a solution soon.

Had my EEG this past Thursday at the hospital. I was surprised that they wanted me to lie down for it. Other times I've had one while awake I was sitting up. The test lasted about an hour all told, though it seemed much shorter.

The technician measured my head, then applied electrodes to it using goo. Then she began measuring my brain waves.

For most of the time I just lay there. For three minutes I had to do deep breathing during which I felt slightly dizzy. For a short time I had my eyes closed while the technician flashed differently-paced lights at me.

Soon enough the test was done. The technician took off the electrodes and briefly scrubbed my hair with a soapy towel.

After it was done, my sister Suzannah picked me up and treated me to lunch at Harvey's.

That was kind of your sister to pick you up jae & take you for lunch. I hope you found some good low calorie diet food at Harvey's - I haven't been there for decades, so I have no idea what they offer now.

Haven't changed much, at least in recent years. Used to be my favorite fast food burgers but Five Guys and South Side have kind of pushed them down the list, though they are harder to find still.

Thank you Carolla. Suzannah really is a great sister. We had a wonderful lunch at Harvey's.

Love Five Guys, and Hero Certified Burgers. Have never tried South Side. Close to my neighborhood there is a great independent burger restaurant too - Apache Burgers.

Oh my - Apache Burgers is still there? We used to drive in from Erindale College in Mississauga to get a burger way back in the early 70s!

Still there and doing well Carolla. One of the best burger restaurants in Toronto imho.

Another place my family and I have tried is Burgers Priest. However, we were not overly impressed. We found it expensive, and the quality not good enough for us to return.
