I never said that all my sources are evangelical Mendalla - not that there is anything necessarily wrong with an evangelical source.

It means you are relying on a biased source that happens to agree with your own uninformed opinion.

Do we read the same Bible Redbaron? Because when I read the Gospels, what I notice is the amazing harmony between them.

Personally, I keep in mind that, "...all scripture inspired of God is profitable to teach, to reprove, to chastise, to learn in rightwiseness," - 2 Timothy 3:16 (WYC).
Wycliffe provides an interesting translation of that verse. "... all scripture inspired of God ..." The word "is" (between "scripture" and "inspired") is missing. That could be taken to suggest that there is scripture not inspired by God that is not profitable in the same ways. And as we look at all this verse says about Scripture, one thing it doesn't say is that Scripture is "perfect" or "inerrant." It says "profitable to teach, to reprove, to chastise, to learn in rightwiseness" - essentially more modern translations agree with that.

You stated earlier, "someone who admitted upfront that he hasn't seen the show and is arguing using evangelical sources that oppose the show."

Again - I never stated that all my sources were evangelical.

Jae, you will watch what you wish, we all do. And even if you enjoyed the story of SCSS you might not enjoy the music. It is certainly not the Messiah. For me, who likes it, I would just suggest you tape it and see

The music is classic 70’s big guitar sound. The desert feels real, to me. One area that did always disturb me a bit, though it rang true, were the High Priests gathered and plotting to dispose of Jesus. It felt a bit of the “blame the jes, they killed Jesus” stuff

To me, someone who doesn’t have years of biblical training , I found the fleshed out Judas quite real. He is portrayed, well in the movie, as someone who wanted to push Jesus in a way he didn’t want to go. Who sold him out , regretted it deeply. His song of anguish before death is truely sad, hurting, real and agonizing The next song is not a risen Judas but an angel Judas. And a horde of angels. To me

I also recognize that in secular times such as we live in, depictions of Jesus are rare. This is a pretty good representation of the story and some people will likely see it and him for the first time. And maybe explore deeper

Differences in the Gospels are not necessarily contradictions.

"If that source is GotQuestions (as was the link you shared upthread) there may well be a problem as the writers there appear incapable of understanding that there are other interpretations of Scripture and Christina Doctrine beyond their (fairly narrow anytime I have read them) understandings."

Isn't that the point of the narrow way ... confined perspectives? Don't get beyond that ... paranormal ... and thus you must become creative ... in a world where artists often starve to support celebrity ... in their extremes ... thus the light plunges into the darkness of the sol 've M"N! And the John Book say if all the stories of light were wrote ... where would we put them ...

Sacred stash because few wished to know that much ...

Control of those in the room is critical to some emotions ... thus avarice as shown to us by god as backing off ... a farce Ide vision?

Possibly a god of wisdom? Far out ... encompassing? At the center ... possibly the explicit can't be seen ... go way wit' jah ...

Some conjectures feel that the potential is greatly varied in eternal case ... still tightwads Marley ...

Rock 'n hill Billie's ... a goad to get on ... there's Moor and amour ... eventually we get over it? --- Sisyphus !

Tis a difficult pilgrimage ... hajji in alternate traditions ... getting by the west? Estrogen ... the dark lady ... fatal attraction causing folly ... and alteration of old habits?

Careful of the hollo pit you choose ... it could deck yah ...

Tonight is the night! To get ready, here is some music from one of the stars, the incredibly talented Sara Bareilles. She is:

A successful pop singer-songwriter--pianist.

Tony nominated composer of the music for the musical Waitress. The original album got a Grammy nomination as well.

A Broadway star, having done two runs in the lead of Waitress.

One of her pop hits:

Sara's own recording of a song from Waitress:

There is good news for those seeking entertainment that is a bit more biblical. "The Ten Commandments" is also on tonight.

Or, thanks to the miracle of PVR, you can watch both. :D

I assume we're talking the classic 1956 version with Charlton Heston as Moses (which was actually a remake of the 1923 silent version done by the same director, the incomparable Cecil B. Demille). There have been a slew of other versions of the story over the past couple decades but that one is the gold standard.
