The music is classic 70’s big guitar sound. The desert feels real, to me. One area that did always disturb me a bit, though it rang true, were the High Priests gathered and plotting to dispose of Jesus. It felt a bit of the “blame the jes, they killed Jesus” stuff
To me, someone who doesn’t have years of biblical training , I found the fleshed out Judas quite real. He is portrayed, well in the movie, as someone who wanted to push Jesus in a way he didn’t want to go. Who sold him out , regretted it deeply. His song of anguish before death is truely sad, hurting, real and agonizing The next song is not a risen Judas but an angel Judas. And a horde of angels. To me
I also recognize that in secular times such as we live in, depictions of Jesus are rare. This is a pretty good representation of the story and some people will likely see it and him for the first time. And maybe explore deeper
