Rest In Peace: tomorrow,tomorrow
Are you a twin?

Are there twins in your family?

I know Busy Mom has a twin brother.

None in my family?

What about you?

None in my family either - but I do have two kids born in the same year and another two kids born 8 months apart in different year! Not quite the same as twins - my family doctor said it was actually harder to deal with as twins would be at a similar stage for eating, sleeping, moving around etc most of the time.

One uncle has fraternal twin daughters (my cousins), but that's it. My best friends in elementary school were identical twin sisters and I fondly remember how envious I was.

I had twin girls between my boys; however, due to TTS they were delivered early and did not survive.
We have no other twins on either side of our family, so this was a real fluke,

No twins in my family, but one of my best friends growing up had an identical (though you could tell them apart once you knew them well) twin brother. They were both characters in the best sense of the term and also my first experience dealing with hardcore atheists (and both remain such as far as I know).

My father was a twin, but his sibling died in early childhood. No other twins on either side, that I know of.

(Got to snuggle with two chubby 7 month old identical twins in the office today, as one of our faculty on leave brought them in. Lovely!)

No twins in my family at all but I am friends with 13 year old triplets-and their mom( Girl, boy, girl)

My brother in law was a twin, but was lost in pregnancy. There are twins in my family, but no one I knew well, I think the closest are second cousins but one died young.

One aunt had twins, one first cousin had twins, hubby's dad was a twin. That's all I can think of right now.

My partner has twin nieces - they look identical to me, but they claim to be fraternal.

A friend is a fraternal twin - she refers to her brother as her "womb-mate" :)

I think it often is a very complex relationship between twins - hard for others of us to appreciate. as younger children our nieces often referred to themselves as "we" - e.g "we passed to Grade 2" as if separate identities did not occur to them. They were often dressed identically too.

There are twin boys who live near me - they are always dressed differently from each other and it's interesting to see how different their personalities are - right from toddlerhood - one seemed more outgoing and inquisitive, the other more pensive in nature.

I recently encountered a situation at work where one twin was terminally ill - it seemed to be an extremely enmeshed relationship between the two, and the death of one seemed inconceivable to the other. It was not a situation I'd ever really thought about before that.

We're watching fraternal twins right now as their parents go on vacay. They are awful children.

Likely with awful parents

I helped a young mom for a year with fraternal twins. Lovely little boys, very different from each other in looks and personality

My brother had good childhood friends who were identical twins. Very similar in looks and behaviour unless they were together. Then they were easy to tell apart , though I never did know which was which.

I agree that twins can be very tricky. Hard for parents time wise and can be hard to develope separate interests and personalities.

One wise set of parents of twins that I know never referred to them as "the twins" but always called the boys by name. They were fraternal twins and hardly looked like brothers and had very different personalities.

My aunt had twins, my cousin had twins. My hubby's father was a twin.

In my childhood there were two sets of twins in my class/grade at school. I was also aware of two sets a few grades ahead of me, and a set in a few grades below me. In my childhood neighbourhood there were 3 sets of twins (2 in one family!!).

For a small community there is an uncanny amount of twins that were born here. I am aware of only one set of triplets.
