Here is the thing for me ------only One Heavenly Father with 3 functions who desires a Relationship not a Religion -----

.
just a side note....."stinking thinking" always reminds me of Joyce Meyer....who was part of my first serious steps in Christianity......thankfully she was just one step that has since been left behind, but recognized as part of my process to learn more.I don't think you can "do" Jesus without entering into a relationship around this "doing" that involves a faith community. Many years shadowing the AA community has taught me that solo interpretations are almost inevitably rationalized "stinking thinking"...
We just believe differently that's all. Have a great day.Waterfall ---your quote ------And I would say it is both a religion and a relationship.
You may want to read James 1:26-27.
James 1:26–27
Religion holds us all togeth
unsafe says ----I believe your grasping at straws with your statements here -----And I would say it is both a religion and a relationship.and this Statement you make here -----Religion holds us all togeth
First off Christianity which is the Religion you speak of I would say -------was Formed by Man not God -----it first appears in the New Testament AT Antioch ----
Acts 11 -AMP
25 And Barnabas left for Tarsus to search for Saul;
26 and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. For an entire year they met [with others] in the church and instructed large numbers; and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.
Second -----I challenge you to find me a scripture where Jesus ever said ----Follow my Religion of Christianity because that is the only Religion I follow -----
Third ---Christianity like all Religions have rules and regulations that their Church has to Follow -----So Man Made Religions bind the church into their traditions and their beliefs ------they outcast certain people and divide people ------there is no unity in Christianity in my view -----
Fourth ----God accepts all people who want to have a Relationship with Him ----there is no division or religion in having a relationship with God ---all who Receive His Free gift of having a Relationship with Him have the same benefits ------
So needles to say I strongly disagree with your statements above ------
Your Quote -----You may want to read James 1:26-27.
unsafe says and posted scripture ------you may want to understand what this is saying ------James 1:26–27
This scripture is all about how to Worship God ----it is definitely not saying that Religion holds people together -----where you get that from this scripture --I have no idea
James 1 (ERV)
The True Way to Worship God
26 You might think you are a very religious person. But if your tongue is out of control, you are fooling yourself. Your careless talk makes your offerings to God worthless.
27 The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence. This is the kind of worship that God accepts as pure and good.
unsafe says -----
A Relationship with Christ now gives us Grace to call on to keep us free from error of sin and gives us control of the tongue ------Religion gives us no restraint -----it encourages competition and an out of control tongue -------- My Religion is the right one ---your Religion is Crap and False---your gay and you are not excepted in our Religion ----your a Polygamist and you are not accepted in our Religion ---Etc --Etc
Wait, I thought that was unsafe's go to line. I didn't know others could use it.We just believe differently that's all. Have a great day.
When in Rome.......dreamerman ----your quote -----Wait, I thought that was unsafe's go to line. I didn't know others could use it.
I am very flattered that others would use my line ----it must mean they really took notice and like using my line instead of using a line they thought of themselves -----
I think it is call A
